I have electric heaters and didn't have a problem. They were new though. Like Lee said though, electric is an inefficient way of heating. Sounds like the wood burner is your best bet!

As per the initial post. The German Police had issue with him going via the UK, not to Spain. He can travel around the listed countries as much as he wants.

No. His VISA allows him to travel to and via the countries I mentioned ;) It's freely available on the link provided.

No, he doesn't have a EU VISA. There is no such thing.

He has a Schengen Visa which covers the following countries.

The 15 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France,...

Erm, Spanish people don't need VISAs to enter England or any other EU country. It's one of the perks of being European and being a member of the EU.
