Entry to the UK
#1
Help. to day my Germans friends Nigrean husband has been refused by the German police to travel to Spain via the UK. He has a Nigerian passport and a visa to live and work in the EU. He was told that it was to do with the SCHENGEN agreement
I dont understand the problem, I thought that it was only to do with entry to Spain from the UK not from Germany to the UK.
Any one help please ?

If that's the same thing, that explains it quite well.
Note; United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Switzerland are NOT participants in the Schengen Agreement.
Where as Germany and Spain are.
If you are changing flights in the UK (on their way to Spain) they will need a transit visa. If they are visiting (classed as staying more than 48 hours) they need a visitors visa.
If they don't need to go to the UK ad just want to get to Spain. Look at going via the countries in the list.

Erm, Spanish people don't need VISAs to enter England or any other EU country. It's one of the perks of being European and being a member of the EU.
Just like I can jump on a plane tomorrow and go to any EU country without a VISA. Your friend can't do it because they aren't an EU national.

But he has a EU visa, the worst thing about it is that he feels that it is because he is Black.

No, he doesn't have a EU VISA. There is no such thing.
He has a Schengen Visa which covers the following countries.
The 15 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. All these countries except Norway and Iceland are European Union members.
Not because he is black...

No he has a visa to work and live in a EU state, it seems he also needs another visa to travel.
And he thinks it is because he is Black

No he doesn't, hehe. By the sounds of it and the problem with the UK, he has the SCHENGEN VISA. This would fully explain why he isn't allowed to enter the UK.
If he thinks it's because he is black, he doesn't know much about the UK

It`s very easy to do and only an issue with illegals looking to enter the UK and we wouldn`t want to think that of him.

No I dont think it is a racist thing, but try telling that to an irrate distressed woman at 8.30 in the morning whose christmas is now ruined, not by the UK police but by the german police who wouldnt let him out, I just dont understand the reason. I understand the agreement thing but why cant he travel, because he has a Nigearan Passport.
And didnt know about the visa.
He traveled via the UK as thie ticket was 58 Euro and the direct route was 300 Euro, but now he cant come, so all is lost.

He only has a valid visa to live and work in Germany not the whole of the EU.
If he is not an EU citizen then he has to apply to each country he wants to live and work in.
If you look in the DWP site (entering the UK) you will see he even needs one for the UK, now if he was traveling with his EU citizen wife then I think it would be a different story.

No. His VISA allows him to travel to and via the countries I mentioned
It's freely available on the link provided.
The UK is just not one of those countries.

Read the bit about the single entry visa, if he applied from Nigeria then he has used is single entry up and should only return to Nigeria or another EU country, if he goes to UK and tries to enter Spain then that would be a second entry to a SCHENGEN country ?
.
