And thats the thrust of my questions - are most private schools purely religion-based (it appears to be predominantly Catholic ones throughout Australia, which I suppose reflects the population mix)...

So this begs the question of using a new passport!! If you went out on a reccie and validated your visa but since then your passport has/is nearly expired, what then? Can this work? Anyone tried it??...

I believe most primary schools are more or less comparable though there is bound to be differences between state and private however. I suppose the "league tables" matter more so in high schools.
