They don't "recieve" GCSE's for this... It's just that for the purposes of league tables the government has arbitrarily decided that the two things are equal. Students still have to do a GCSE course...

Renting for 2 years- I can highly recommend Yarraville. Lots of parks, pretty cheap and lovely village feel with cafes and restaurants.

It's possible to teach on a WHV, but bear in mind you can only work for a max of 6 months for any employer.

You don't need 3 years experience to work in Oz, you need 1 year (not including training) to be eligible for a skilled independent visa, and 3 years post qualification experience to get an extra 10...

I may have misunderstood but it sounds to me as if the question is whether a 3 year BEd in primary education is acceptable in which case the answer is NO. Basically you need to do 4 years tertiary...

In terms of academic achievement the top state schools in Melbourne do better than the really expensive private schools. For the past 7 years a state school has come top of the state.

Teaching in the Oz system I have to say that the academic level is certainly lower here than in the UK, by about a year in secondary science I'd say. However there students do start school a year...
