I did read that about the Gulf Stream some time ago. Taking that into account, then it's an even bigger win win for the UK. Britain at last could become a true winter wonderland ! No more trudging...

Who needs all that ice on the poles anyway, it's not as if you can go skiing. Besides, it's well known that there is oil under the South Pole, it would make the job of drilling for it much easier.
