Default At last, an Aussie politician talks sense...

Family First senator Steve Fielding has made up his mind on global warming - there's not enough evidence that it's real.

After talks with the Government and top scientists, Senator Fielding, who holds a crucial Senate vote, has released a document setting out his position.

"Global temperature isn't rising," it says.

Finally.

Plus the other independent also started talking sense and asked for modeling of different scenarios.

There is hope that reason will pprewail and Australia will be an example to the world.

Perhaps for treating a mathematical model for what it is: only as good as the (selective) data put into it.

Good stuff. I'm glad the opposition are delaying this ridiculous legislation that KRudd and Co are trying to bulldoze through parliament.

Labour's proposal may not be any good but it doesn't mean that climate change isn't real

It might be real but it's not man made.

Or, at the very best, the man made part is:
A: A small component of the problem
B: Only solvable on a world wide scale anyway, which isn't going to happen.

The carbon credit thing wouldn't do anything to solve it in any case, it's a scam.

Sure, but what's causing it? I'm not convinced that GW is man-made - so are a lot of 'experts'.

Man-made GW is a left-wing wet dream, which is why our socialist government is so keen to get this legislation through parliament.

I like the attitude of both of these independent Senators. Instead of being a slave to voting on party lines, they are taking the time to investigate issues and draw a reasoned and informed conclusion about how they should vote on the issue. Politics should be more like this instead of the bun throwing of the bi-partisan system...

Agree, it's good to have an independent viewpoint - even if you disagee with it.

I can't quite believe what I am reading...

Ok - so even IF global warming was not deemed anthropogenic, does that mean we should keep raping the environment?
