Re: Positives and Negatives about Adelaide

Yep, Adelaide was the only way for us to get in after the points went up on what was then the 136 visa, where you could move anywhere.
We hadn't even considered Adelaide before then.
I certainly...

Re: Positives and Negatives about Adelaide

I guess that the people that love Adelaide stay and the others that don't, move interstate.

Positives: Close to lovely beaches (in the South anyway) and beautiful sunsets and things a bit closer together.

Re: Do Brits move to Oz cause they think there are too many migrants in UK?

You must be an aussie then. If not, I bet you are one of the people that think that once on australian soil, you must only think, eat and breath australian. I bet "Bizzarley" your name is Bruce.

Re: Do Brits move to Oz cause they think there are too many migrants in UK?

Feeling like a second class citizen in our own country was only 1 factor in us moving to Aus.
Moving to another country doesn't mean that you have to give up everything, such as beliefs, favourite...

Re: Are you still where you emigrated too?

Hi, we are in Helensvale and love it.
It's not just the theme parks that we like. There are more national parks and we like to go camping and the choices of places are endless (not that we have been...

Re: Are you still where you emigrated too?

We lived in Adelaide for 4 and a half years and found it boring. Been up the Gold Coast for 9 months and love it. There is so much more to do here.

Re: Gold coast and Brizzy holiday

I would stay at Surfers Paradise. It's right by the beach and you wouldn't have to drive anywhere at night as you would be in walking distance to places to eat, nightlife etc.
If you hire a car,...

Re: South Australia to Queensland shipping costs

Hi, it cost us around $7k and $900 of that was to have the van moved up.
We used allied Pickfords and they arranged for the van to be sent up via another company.
We drove up in the car with 3 kids...

Re: Lovely weather for winter

I am so glad we moved from Adelaide to the GC. I know for sure I wouldn't have been watching my son in a footy carnival wearing a T shirt, skirt and flip flops in Adelaide. I would have been rugged...

We knew that things were slow last year but thought that the job prospects would have picked up by now. We have been here 6 weeks and not a sniff of work. 50-70 people are applying for each job that...

Re: Selling a house and want to rant.

We have had open inspections every time. A simple drive by could have given them a view of position of house, what the street looks like, a 2 storey house next door etc.
The house is in a good...

Well the OP wants to hear about adelaide. Surely they want to hear positives and negatives. It wouldn't do for people to come with rose tinted sunnies on.
What one person thinks is great, equally...

Re: Selling a house and want to rant.

It's not a bad street that I live in, it's just that 1 person didn't like it. My point was why look at a house in a street that you are not keen on. Houses in our area are taking longer to sell but...
