You can put it into a Wise account and get cash back that’s taxed at source at 30% - they’re based in Belgium. You can instead opt in for their interest option but it’s subject to Capital Gains.

Unless you’re married, I’m not sure how easy it’ll be for your partner to get a visa. If he can get one, his best bet would be training to become an English teacher.

Yes I have, I did it at the commune. It’s relatively straightforward and consists of filling out a form, showing CdI, residency certificate and costs around €16.

The CIE with my card just stopped working for no reason, so I ended up getting a free SPID with Poste (I don’t bank with them) - it’s much easier.
