PR visa what happens when you return to UK

My sister in law is selling up and returning to UK - not settled here etc, what happens with their PR visa does it stay valid or once they go back can they ever return to Oz ?

we were able to get off at dubai for 2 hours we went to get kids something to eat as the kids didnt eat on the plane, we paid with auzzie dollars but you get change in singapore dollars,...
