Well it's nearly 11 and nothing good or bad has happened yet so although it will go downhill later, hopefully there will be a good result afterward

Anyway, saw a lovely post on FB today about 'restoring faith in mankind' kind of thing, thought it would be shite but some really nice pics that made me smile.

So not a bad day so far.

Hope your day improves Eddie. Been to physio and managed not to break the brand new machine. Just. Been to Auspost and renewed 2 passports. Grabbed a coffee, eaten my carrot ration for lunch but spiced it up with a blob of cottage cheese (apparently that's allowed).

Waiting on a job application that closed on Monday. Not looking too hopeful. I don't get why though. I meet all the criteria and it's in a very specialised area so I'm sure there can't be hundreds lining up for it.......very disheartening. :-( The only thing I lack is in-school experience in Australia. I am fully registered and have been teaching privately. Ah well, keep trying.

Big bang from next door, then loads of shouting and swearing.........it's Thursday so pension day. Off out for supplies from the Bottle-O. Could be a sleepless night again. There goes the roller door. Think he must have slammed his hand in the door. Donut.

Pretty crap.

Dog decided to eat the back of the 'deck' fridge/freezer - he then spent two hours running around like a loony (probably high on whatever lovely gases are in there)while I had to try and cram the contents of two freezers into one with the knowledge that I have a load of shopping being delivered this afternoon.

Then I was sitting with half a cup of tea left in my mug when Middlechild said - "is that a leaf in there?" No - it was a

spider.

"What's the problem?" he asked. "It's not like it's still alive"

It certainly hasn't helped me get over the crappy/pukey/achey bug I'm struggling with.

Quiet so far. I've finished making myself another flannel nightshirt since I loved the one I made a couple of weeks ago so much. Just sitting here now getting myself into a flap about going to see the surgeon this arvo. He's going to remove my last drain, which has been in place for 9 days, and I know it's going to hurt like a bugger.

After we get home from the city we've got a guy coming around to give a quote for solar then I'm making a steak & mushroom pie and salad for dinner. Have a major craving for Maltesers (thanks very much for mentioning them a few days ago Cheetah! ) so might make the old man stop and pick me up some. Although...#1 daughter is working today which means she will bring home a box of baked goods she's made. Love Thursdays when she works.

It was ok until I read Tiddler's report card and one comment in particular. Shit is going to hit the fan at Parent Teacher meeting next term. I'm bloody irritated now

But now you have mentioned Maltesers- you tease! I can no longer have them as they are not GF.

Hope the drain comes out quietly and without pain.
Love the idea of a flannel nightshirt. Might have to dig out my 1980's vintage Wee Willie Winkie one and see if I can work out a pattern for it. When my eyes work that is.

I was working in the freezer today and think I was close to suffering from frostbite and hypothermia and general bloodycoldness! Then I came out and it was all lovely and warm but I think I defrosted too quickly, will that effect the cooking time or the flavour if I were to be thrown in a cannibal's cookpot? Not that that is terribly likely, but I do like to cover all possibilities.

Still a tad disgruntled with how unfair things can be in life but at least I now have peace, apart from having a semi-demented 10 yo and DestructoPup running around.

Tonight I shall be mainly cooking dinner for today and tomorrow, reading my book and generally doing ironing avoidance manoeuvres which in this house mainly involves shutting the door on the room where the iron, the board and the ironing pile are tucked away!

I should also try and get myself organised and back into serious job-hunting, I cannot really carry on as I am now for much longer, it seems to me that no matter what I say, I will never get more than 16 hours or so a week and that's not going to keep my head above water. They say it's easier to get a job from a job, so we shall see.......

I have a small mountain to do but it is DD's mid-year calisthenics performance tonight so I guess not being in the same building as the ironing counts as a valid avoidance excuse?

Can't escape it forever though.

On the plus side, gastro and migraine a distant memory. I feel better for having done a decent impression of a koala and sleeping 18 out of the last 24 hours. And MIL is home from hospital! Surgeons got all the cancer in one go and no chemo or radio therapy needed!!!!! Just a colostomy repair in about six weeks time.

So all in all an awesome day!

Ill send you some Maltesers Dorothy , I love them - they are my favourites. I like sucking the chocolate off, bugger it - I shall buy a big bag for myself tomorrow.

I have just got back from the hospital from having a steroid injection in my hip, it stung a bit but now I am lying down in bed and it is really hurting me. Due to start immuno suppressive therapy tomorrow all being well so will have to give up on alcohol completely.

But for tonight, Mr PP is making his own homemade pizza and we have some beer to wash it down and I think, some apple crumble is left over from yesterday which is begging to be eaten.

Its bloody cold today, I think the gas heater will be on later.
