Saw a 1960's Rover at a local car show, was doing a Brit theme that day.

Also loads of MG's, Triumphs and Jensens....all very lovely and a couple Aston Martin's and Jags.

No Lotus or TVR's around though.

Not sure what the difference between the Hilux and Tacoma is, but they don't seem to sell both in the same markets. Either one or the other.

It's meant to be Lansbury but I used a lower case 'l' to make it easier to log on. I really should ask Sue to change it.

Yeah, the Hilux is sold as a Tacoma in the US iirc.

Interesting thing, I know hillbillies that go mudding in these big trucks in giant mudpits back in the hollers of WV, they have respect for the little Toyotas.

Actually two very different vehicles in design, engines etc. . Hilux is not sold in the U.S. or Canada. They are not twins, so to speak.

They aren't. Even the frame is different. Different engine choices as well. In truth, the Hilux is a stronger, rougher riding truck.. The Tacoma was designed for the more subtle ride preferred by North Americans.

Ah, I assumed (oops ) that because the Hilux on TopGear looked so much like my friends old Tacoma they were the same thing. Perhaps they used to be?

I currently know two folks driving Tacomas, but newer ones.

The early Tacoma bore a resemblance to a Hilux. Very easy to confuse the two.

The only classic Loti or TVRs I'm aware of tend to be evenly distributed around the garage floor .
