Re: Seeking Advice: Moving to Florida as a UK Sexual Health Nurse on H-1B Visa

Nurses in the US have a foundation in all of the separate branches that UK nurses specialize in. So, in order to be able to take the NCLEX exam (a national test in all of those specialties in...

Re: UK voting

I recently got word that I was (back) on the UK electoral register. Per the old legislation, I was removed about 8-ish years ago, and missed Brexit by about 6 months. This is the correspondence I...

Re: CFGNS nursing transcript for RN

I agree with the above. I am a nurse, but did all my training on the US side in 2002-ish.

UK - US nurses need to provide transcripts showing didactic AND clinical hours in adult, paeds, learning...

Re: Any Brits on Long Island or NY?

I love Port Jeff. I used to take the ferry over to Bridgeport for a previous job, but these days It’s just the occasional visit for the occasional pub crawl.

Small world.

Re: UK NURSE TO USA TEXAS

The US don't have separate RN degrees for adult / paeds / MH / learning disabilities. As such, you will need to show proof of theory AND clinical time for all of those specialties in your...

Re: UK Adult Nursing Student wanting to work as RN in NY eventually

No. Not yet at least.

Your UK qualifications are not transferable for the reasons already given. The US don't have separate RN degrees for adult / paeds / MH / learning disabilities. It's all...

Re: At the beginning ...

There are probably no conversion courses as such, but foreign applications can be made to the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) from training which originated outside the US. One of the main...

Re: Moving to Long Island NY

I have lived on Long Island for almost 20 years, and currently work in Ronkonkoma. There are plenty of reasonably "safe" towns and villages dotted around, although my personal preference is towards...

Re: What age were you when...?

1. 32

2. Maybe a few years sooner, but I am glad I got to experience most of those UK years

3. There are a few things I would change if I could go back in time, but I could apply that to my...

Re: Dual Nationality

Another dual UK/US citizen from (just outside) Glasgow here. I agree with the comments so far. Travel out of, and back to, the US on your US passport.

Re: Leaving the US for good after 9 years

Thanks for your post and best of luck with the move.

A lot of what you say rings true with me too, but it's nothing that would have me packing my bags. After 16 years here I know I will never feel...

Re: help/advise please
