Re: What age were you when...?
I was thirty-three. I came by way of Canada which alleviated the culture shock on arrival in the US.
Have no regrets, married and raised a family, done pretty well for myself

Married this lovely lady I met in the South Pacific. Few regrets, but miss friends in the pub, Scouts, sports quite a lot. More difficult to make new friends when you're older.

29,
No regrets* in the move at all, I feel like the US/NYC is more my home in the short time I’ve lived here than I ever did in the UK
* = wish I’d been able to get a job sooner, OH prob has regrets

Re: What age were you when...?
I was 42.
I moved here because of my husband. If I had moved earlier I probably wouldn't have crossed paths with my now-husband when I did. I'm also glad that I came with plenty of life experience, having lived in 5 previous countries, travelled the world. It can get very isolated here. I'd hate to have spent my 20s and 30s working somewhere with one week annual leave a year and Europe a long-haul flight away. I'm pleased I spent that time in the U.K. and Germany and had the chance to go to Amsterdam or Berlin for a day or two, for example and then use annual leave for trips to Asia and Africa. I've seen a lot more of the world than the people I work with.
No, I don't regret marrying my husband and living with him.

^^^Nail on the head. The motto in the US is 'live to work' which runs totally against most Europeans ideas of 'work to live'.
No regrets marrying the missus, hard being a long haul from my two daughters though.

I moved when I was 22. I have no regrets in term of places I've seen and experiences I've had. My only regret is how things have turned out in my personal life (family issues, brother dying etc).

Re: What age were you when...?
For what it's worth:
1. I was 26
2. I think I moved at just about the right time, though that one's hard to quantify because I came on a K1, so I moved as a direct result of meeting my wife and I would have had no reason to move sooner. I could have waited a bit longer so I could bank more money in the UK but to be honest, once my visa was approved, I just wanted to get out here. In retrospect, maybe that was a little irresponsible, but we're doing fine now twelve years later so it's all good.
3. I don't regret it. I got pretty homesick about 3-4 years in, and that lasted a couple of years, but I got over it and it doesn't really bother me anymore. Of course I miss Northern Ireland from time to time, I lived there 26 years, it's only natural and I'd miss things about living here if we were ever to return to live in Ireland or the UK. That's not to say it's better here, or it's better there - it's an additive process, not subtractive. I'm gaining experiences I would never normally have had the opportunity for had I not came here, and my wife and kids get to do the same when we hop across the pond.

42 and it was only for a temporary assignment which is now 17.5 yrs. Had great periods of homesickness, particularly when the kids were teenagers. Now I consider this home but I still enjoy going back to the UK.Having older kids and not working, I have never managed to create that circle of friends I had in Scotland.
Watching the health debate with great interest as I have lots of pre-existing conditions. While DH is employed, that is not really an issue but with retirement looming in a few years, we are considering moving back to the UK which would be hard. Not that the NHS is great but at the moment, it still there. Also Trump scares the living daylights out of me.

I moved here to be with my wife, in some ways I'd have preferred to have stayed in the UK as I had a good job/income, great living situation and lived within 30 minutes of my two best friends and most of my family.
I wouldn't say I regret it. Life pulls you in different directions and it's certainly an experience. I'd rather be here instead of doing the same shit, in the same town, with the same people going absolutely nowhere in life. As above, I'd have preferred to stay in the UK but I certainly don't regret it.
