Re: Job front is gloomy in Sydney apparently..

Hi BS,
My question about waiting 3 years for the economy to sort itself out wasn't aimed specifically to you, it was a general comment. My point was really that 3 years is a long time and perhaps is...

Re: Job front is gloomy in Sydney apparently..

I met a few agencies when I was on my reccie in December. They can't predict what the economy is going to do and by the nature of their roles they have to be optimistic. Of course they'll tell you...

Re: CIMA and CPA Australia annouce mutual recognition

It will hopefully only be a matter of time for ACCA if CIMA have the mutual recognition. Is there any official news from ACCA about this? I know they have an office in Sydney so I'd expect them to be...

Re: Any car rental suggestion in Sydney?

We tapped the details into Moneysupermarket dot com and netflights.com and a few other comparison sites before we went in December 2008 and came up with many options. It depends on your size of car....

Re: Best place to stop over (UK to Oz) with small children

We've flown UK to Aus and back twice with our two kids (now 7 & 5) and we always go straight through. The journey on these planes is great - the kids get their own DVD / TV screen and the hours fly...

Re: Sydney E-tag and hire cars?

Yes, as someone says above, you just need a Visitors E-Pass. We used one last month. You have 48 hours to register after you pick up your hire car (you need the reg number obviously), and you can...

Re: Sydney road tolls

Great reply Mark - I needed that one! The visitors e-pass is the perfect solution. There's a couple of roads I can't use it on, but it'll do the rest.

Thanks,

I just spoke to a finance recruitment agency in Sydney, and without wanting to depress anyone who's about to make the move, this is what he said.

He said the job market is particularly bad at the...

Re: Racism in Australia

Thanks for that insight Nicky. Cronulla is the only south-Sydney location on our list of potential residential areas for the very reason that it is on the train line into the city. I want to live...

Re: Racism in Australia

A question specifically about Cronulla. Was Cronulla the centre of the racial unrest in 2005 for a reason, or could it have been at any Sydney beach?

I've heard a lot of good things about Cronulla...

Re: Ayers Rock now known as Uluru?

Just because you once called something one name it doesn't mean you always have to call it that.

I mean, I used to call my wife attractive.
