most the companies i know wont employ you if you going to be on a restricted licence for that long so not looking good :(

an sa licence is not valid in wa you have to get you sa licence then you ca transfer it or apply for a wa licence i was going to have to do this when my company got a job in perth :)

my advice is get it done as soon as possible as they said it is only a period of grace and could be stopped as most who come over now are thro the vetassess route

spoke to peer and there is a grace period for the transition so if you have your artc you can still obtain your licence this way but all those who have done the vetassess need to do it the new way...

today I had to go to peer to pick up some white cards for the company i work for and saw patrick the lecturer i had for the wiring regs course
he told me as from january anyone coming over cannot...

my company in sa got a job in darwin and was told for any sa electrician to work in dawin they would need their licence so they had to get 3 licences to send the electricians to work there

he was a bit slow 2 of them failed 1 german he had problems with the language and 1 indian but i dont think he was an electrician
I did find the exam easy I got 87% it is easier than the 16th...

it depends on how bad you fail you can just redo the stuff you failed on but if you fail too much then they could ask you to sit the whole thing again or worst case go in and do the course as they...

they really dont work hard here at all they do about 4 hours work a day :rofl:
so you gotta spread it out do a bit chat do a bit have smoke'o' then do a bit and so on they...

in south australia there is not much call for it they all use rverse cycle air conditioning with heat in some bigger houses they have underfloor electric heating :)

It took me a 5 week course 2 nights a week to do wiring regs and exam at the end I sent off for my artc about a week after arriving I was working whilst doing the course also to work on building...

hey tombo there is plenty of work in adelaide rates between $27-$35 an hour we been here about 5 months now and I got offered 3 jobs as soon as I startd looking loads of work going on in the city...

it is ipaf i have depends on where you are working i used flying carpet all the time in bridgestones factory but not at all at the retirement appartments i am working on

there are a few companies that will take you on as a trades assistant the company I work for did and a few others that the blokes I did the wiring course with did its just a matter of sending your cv...

Yea I just sent copies of my certs and hours i did at college the most important thing is your details of what you do at work put as much info in there so even someone who is not an electrician can...

quickest is to do wiring regs course at peer in adelaide by corresponance then fly down to take exam http://www.peer.com.au

in south australia you do a certificate of completion detailing exact work done but still you dont put in test results and just sign to say it complies

they will just contact you and ask you to sign them i forgot to put a copy of my visa in and they just wrote and asked for it just takes longer :)
