Get on to the tax office, you can claim back any overestimated tax you have been paying on your salary.

Your monthly tax deductions are calculated on the basis that you will be earning this amount...

In WA you do get your UK licence back, however you do need a letter with your name on to verify your address.

You can drive on a UK licence for up to three months - but a quick thing to change...

If you get the visa - getting licenced here is not as straight forward - OH never bothered with the gas one here and went for the plumbers licence instead - however the local tafe here do offer...
