I have started a new position within the oil and gas industry and guess what - one of the divisions is looking for a Financial Controller to work from the Darwin Office.

Financial Controller

Darwin Offshore Logistics Base (DOLB) specialises in innovative solutions for marginal offshore oil and gas developments. Trident also provides vessel and barge equipment as well as construction and marine personnel for onshore and offshore projects.

We are looking for someone who will take ownership of the finance functions of the business and integrate structure into the day to day operations of the finance department.

This mixed and varied role is ideal for a candidate that thrives on the challenges of growing a successful business and the structure/ processes that need to be implemented. An opportunity to make this role your own as we enter this exciting growth phase.

We are looking for a driven, commercially astute and down to earth individual who thinks outside the square and is committed to continuous improvement.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a broad role encompassing all aspects of Accounts Payable and Receivable, Payroll, Invoicing, Bank Reconciliations, Profit and Loss, Management Reporting, forecasting, capital expenditure, preparation of annual budget, preparation and involvement in audited financial reports and all associated company taxation requirements.

You will be accountable for managing the core finance functions as well as consulting with the directors in order to drive and maximise financial performance.
You will be either CA or CPA qualified and have suitable experience in a similar Financial Controller position. You will add value from a revenue generation perspective as well as a cost reduction perspective, have excellent technical accounting skills as well as solid budgeting experience.

Key responsibilities will include the management of the individual performing the day to day data entry and a ‘hands on can do’ attitude in all circumstances:
• MYOB
• Invoicing
• Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable
• Bank Reconciliations
• Payroll for staff and contractors
• Monthly management reporting
• BAS
• Budgeting, Forecasting and other projects
• Development of Policies and Processes

This role involves relocation to Darwin and close involvement with associated entities in Singapore and Perth.

Ultimately it requires someone enthusiastic, driven and willing to be involved in the dynamic Oil and Gas current market.
