I'd second that. If its any consolation we were quoted £650 extra from Cathay to up it to 40kgs...however as I'll be carrying all the bags I don't think Id manage more than 80kgs for the 4 of us...

word of warning with Cathay Pacific, you have to buy a special Migration ticket to qualify for the extra 20kg allowance ..and at £150 per person extra we are going to spend the £600 on buying extra...

you could have a concept similar to SSL where someone verifies you!...

Thanks for the replies, I agree it seems that chasing as much as possible is the best option as it must be near impossible for them to differentiate between 2000 CVs!

We've flown Singapore and they did weigh our..+ tag it nut only so they knew where to stick it in the hold.
We had it to the gate and during transit at Singapore and they were brilliant.

We've just spoken to Cathay and as suggested there is a "migration ticket" which is an extra £180 per person...owch!
We decided we'd rather just spend £700 on anything we couldn't get in and buy new...

It took us exactly 70 days.
I suspect as we were non-modl the CO put us aside untill the standard 70 days to reply was up and then looked at us.
(we got our meds to Sydney within 2 weeks of CO...

Don't dispair....we are non-modl and were start to finish in 9 mths...some cases take longer but I think generally 9mths is average

We've just got our non-modl 136 (IT based) in 9.5 mths, no complications but I think we picked a busy time to apply last year (30% up)

Ours were due to expire in July06 so I just sent some more in with a 1022 change of circumstances form and email the CO saying that was what I was doing....
