Well our trip went like this.
Queue for the security was very long with some twat shouting "keep moving it along, hurry up" not exactly sure what he was on about as there was no where to move....

Flew back from Heathrow Sunday and the security was a real hassle.
They confiscated my wifes lipstick (solid) and took a pack of matches from me.

Where I live everything is newly built in the last ~10 years and it is all underground. Everything, phone, power, cable, etc.
It all depends on the climate, geology, and how recently it was built....
