I find New Years Eve to always be a bore and a chore. I'm one of those poeple who stays in, eats too much, drinks too much and then goes to bed at 12.01am.

However this year I am going to try my best to actually try and do something special for this anti-climactic occasion. I will be in Britain at the time, me and the US OH did the Edinburgh Hogmany thing back in 2003 (which was okay), so what else is there to do?

What are your plans for New Years Eve?

To get completely wankered, hug lots of people I don't really know, be insincere, loud and over bearing, embarrass the wife and have no recollection the next day. I don't see why this year should be different because we're in a foreign country. Only difference will be that I will have to drink four times as much to compensate for the waz like beer.

We haven't done a damn thing the last two years, but call it an early night. This year we're going for a swanky steak dinner. My wife and I actually met new years 2000/01 in Vegas.

hubby and I had our first kiss on New Years Eve..it was Frankfurt 1994...it was our second meeting ..first date(kind of ) I'd been getting shit faced and socialising all night..some how he'd put up with me...coming on to midnight ..rushing out of pub, cobbled stones..firecrackers..cheers fromeveryone running out of all the other pubs..counting down...looking at each other....having a good ol first snog....that's always a part of our New Years..wherever we are....now it's usually us two and the kids we get them sparkling applejuice in a kind of champagne bottle while we get shit faced and remember good times and toast good times to come

I have had lunch with NCP many times, she is a teddy bear in real life, not half as frieghtening as she appears here - this is forum must be the outlet for her pent up aggression!

Seeing as I get pissed most nights ....New Year Eve never really excites me.... the bars/pubs are usually full of those "once a year drunks" . After all its just SSDD .... always liked Boxing Day for the big piss up ...

Boxing day is leegndary.
All day in the boozder with your mates watching footie and racing and playing pool.
I've been over here for the last 2 but I'll be home this time round. Have been getting myself in training by having at least 3 beers a night to get ready.
5 months of drinking bud light seems to have lowered my alcohol tolerance considerably

Our New Year was very romantic last year. I had a bout of the runs just as the 2005 ball was dropping in Time Square (on TV)...kissed hubby to the new year tune, then ran to the bathroom!
