A BOM spokesperson was quoted elsewhere as Ului being "15 hundred" kms away, which in the excitment of the story chase somehow become

According to the CM report you're safe for quite a while. "Senior forecaster Brett Harrison said at midday (AEST) today it was more than 15,000 kilometres northeast of the Whitsundays" That's Sydney...

Move west to where? The tablelands is not really an option (previous local belief) as there was a lot of damage to buildings up there when Larry went through.

Ului has appeared and developed to Cat 5 very quickly. Google earth shows just how big it is.

Brisbane/GC hasnt had a cyclone for a long time...

Cleveland high is an easy walk from the station. Cleveland State is further away but bstill walkable. From the station up past the library, left along Middle St past the shops, right at Crazy...

Brisbane has been hit by cyclones in the past, although not very strong ones with most of the damage caused by flooding.
