Re: UK State Pension - delayed payments ?

Don't forget to get it notarized before returning it... you have to sign it in front of the notary official so he can confirm you really are you, and you're alive.

Re: UK State Pension - delayed payments ?

I phoned them and asked about it. Apparently there is now a "Life Certificate" which needs to be signed and witnessed every couple of years. They say they sent two to me (one in March, one more...

Re: How Bad is Air Canada Rouge?

I've flown Air Canada Rouge (should be Rough) to Cuba. I don't know what the transatlantic flights are like, but the Caribbean ones are challenging. Hard seats, minimal leg room, minimal...

Re: How do you decide to move to Canada?

How did I decide? Well, long story: I was in Ottawa on training for my hitec employer. Friday night, I hit the Byward Market and ended up chatting to this cute blonde. We saw each other for the...

Re: Extended vehicle warranty; is it worth it?

See, I have a different view to all the naysayers. We leased a 2013 Ford Escape for three years, then bought it at the end of lease and we also bought an extended warranty for it for a further three...

Re: Merrickville or not?

I work in Kanata and live in Manotick, nice village feel with shops, pubs and restaurants, 30 mins up the 416 to work, about 30 mins to centre of Ottawa. A nice place without the houses being on top...

Re: Making friends

I wonder how much of this is due to Ottawa weather! In winter we button up - the coat, the car, the house. In summer we spend much more time outside, which results in chatting more with neighbours...

Not been on here for a while, very remiss of me.
I want to share this - it's only of any use if you live close enough to the border, sorry if it's been seen before.
If you fly USA to LHR with Air...

Re: Ottawa - whats it like?

Re: Boarding kennel recommendation ottawa

We did this - but with our cats. We used Place for Paws:
2432 Old Highway 17, Rockland, ON, K4K1K7 - 613-446-2280, quite convenient if you are coming in via Montreal.

We went last week and were getting £1 = Ca$1.56 - best I've known for a while.
