We came via the states. Flew London to New York, spent a couple of days with mates in Manhattan then took the train up the Hudson Valley and across to Niagara for a couple of days then hired a car...

I was given a permanent resident visa straight away. Probably because I'd been with my aussie for 10 years when the application went in, married for 7 and have two kids, who we'd already registered...

A cricket bat works well. My other half and his family used to compete to see how far they could hit them off the side of a hill (on a farm). A car is also effective. :)

I rang the manufacturers of my fridge and asked them to send a letter confirming the CFC status on headed paper which I copied, stuck a copy on the fridge and kept a copy for the Aussie authorities...

Try this link. Some reasonable prices but check the small print for what's covered. Some of the budget ones cover practically nothing.......!

Get a good pest company in to treat your house regularly (spraying round skirting boards, doorways, under cupboards etc etc) and you shouldn't have too much problem indoors. This should keep away...

If your tvs are digital, you can buy a set top box (about $100 to about $500). Aus is due to go digital soonish so would be worth taking digital tvs.....
