Re: Coming to the Sunny Bay of Plenty

Re: We are coming over in January

Take your washing machine. Most seem to be top loaders. I lived in Tauranga for 8 years so know the area very well. It is beautiful. Good luck with your new life.

Re: husband going first :(((

You are headed for a beautiful part of NZ. Am sure a walk up Mount Maunganui and dinner at Mount Bistro will help you to forget the upheaval and all it entails.
Good luck!

Re: Worried that it will be a case of be careful what you wish for

We returned with our 2 girls 12 and 14 two years ago after spending 8 years in NZ. The eldest went straight into GCSE's and came out with 4A* and 5A's. Even though I was desperate to return to NZ I...

Re: Sometimes it's just unbearable

So feel for you. We spent 8 years in NZ. Had many positive experiences (and a few not so) over the years. I would stand and marvel at the beautiful scenery but my head was just screaming but its...

Re: Christmas makes me sad

I so relate to your post and when you say you are just too English to stay any more. We did eight years and always went away for Christmas, my two favourites were spent in Russell and Waiheke Island...

Re: hi everybody!

Lived in Tauranga for eight years. Would definitely recommend it. Papamoa is also known as Pommymoa for obvious reasons. Nice if you want to live by the beach but personally would not live there...

Re: What do you wish you'd shipped over..

Probably best not to rush out and buy heaps of clothes. (t- shirts - yes) Although NZ still has their seasons it is quite different to here. They tend to layer a lot to suit climate as even in...

Re: Whats actually cheaper in NZ vs the UK

Re: What do you wish you'd shipped over..

Your front loader washing machine, they are mostly top loaders. All clothing and footwear. It is either very cheap and cheerful or expensive, very little in between. Infact I would say hold onto...
