The only issue I could see with buying termite damaged property is that the bank might refuse to loan you the money if they are aware of the termite damage. This isn't a problem if you're buying it...

Yep, extremely easy. Especially the miniature ones, they don't get fruit fly or anything! They're apparently a bit more difficult to grow in places like Sydney as they can develop some kind of rot...
