Default Rented accomodation

Almost there, we fly out on the 14th of February We are going to live in a holiday let for three weeks, and use most of that time to try and find a good rental in a area we all like and is situated fairly close to future job prospects and schooling needs, idealy
We regulary look in on the reiwa website for rental choices and we have noticed a slight fall in rental prices of late this is a good thing, has all money not spent on extra rental goes towards extra savings for a rainy day.
A good sized house with four bedrooms and a decent living standard etc comes in at around the $300 to $450 bracket per week, in areas such has Mandurah,Dudley park, we can only use these has guides has being there gives a much better idea of what you actually get for your dollar, in the areas shown. We really want to be in a smaller typed location, away from the hustle and bustle but at the end of the day it will be down to location/size and cost.
Our holiday accomodation is all the way up north in Butler, great looking place but maybe a little to far away from any job prospects? time will tell i suppose, we had to take the Butler home has it was at such short notice from moving out of our house here and the flight dates, (hectic) few weeks to say the least

Look at www.domain.com.au and www.realestate.com.au as well, as we have found that sometimes properties can take a while to get onto reiwa.

I don't think that Butler would be any further away from work opportunities than Mandurah, but you'll get a better idea when you get here. Hope all goes well for your last week in the UK.

I agree with this. It really depends on what line of work you and your other half do. For example, anything to do with the building trades, it doesn't really matter where you live - you'll end up all over the Perth metro area anyhow.

Interestingly, I am starting to look for accommodation also and its a minefield has to know where to go.

My partner is a plasterer and I working in has a Advertising Sales Rep alot this type of work seems to be in Subacio.

Alot of our friends also seem to live in the NOR. Can anybody please advise us of any suitable holiday lets for when we land in August please?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Debbie

Have you looked at www.stayz.com.au? It would help if you could find a map of Perth to see where the suburbs are. Some of the properties are listed alongside other properties that are a large distances apart, but put together in a Stayz category (very confusing). There are filters on the high hand side of the screen, eg "family friendly". One places is listed under "Perth north" and is about a 2 hour drive away from Perth, outside the metro area.

If you want to be more central, perhaps concentrate on Subiaco and Shenton Park areas. It might be a bit windy along the coast at that time of year with winter storms, but great if a sunny spell is around. There is a reasonably priced place in Duncraig listed, for example. If you go too much further north, it will take longer to get around if you need to go back and forth to the central areas. In Subiaco there is a Medicare office, 4 supermarkets, a train station, various bus routes. Shenton Park is next door and there are several properties listed there.

Suburbs with large shopping centres in the north, which would include Medicare, HBF/Medibank, post offices, etc are Karrinyup, Whitfords and Joondalup. Innaloo and Warwick are large shopping centres, but no Medicare, although they do have Centrelink offices.
