I use a lot of subbies. going rate here is $35 carpenter, builder, plasterer, concreter etc.
$65 electrician. These vary up and down a little but not much. I know of handymen that charge $60...

That is exactly what I miss. In the uk even small villages are close to metro areas or have small shops selling interesting objects. I love it here but I find the choice bland.

sports coverage is awful. ad placement is just thoughtless. News is biased and misses out all of the key little details that makes the news informative and enjoyable.

its all down to your area though, even Brisbane doesnt have a huge amount of choice although the valley has some nice shops.

I used to think how many shops do you need until i moved to the coast...

yes. I think eating by a table is nice and also I used to love the social aspect as an under 12 where you were placed on tables.
