Just found this thread.

We applied, online, for a 457 visa on 3 August, had medicals on the 6th, which were then with immigration by the 8th. These were then finalised on the 15th. I though everything was speeding along nicely, but have had nothing since. I emailed them to get an indication of processing times and was told that there was a 10 -12 week period after lodging the application before a case officer would be assigned, then who knows after that.

Still checking the status everyday, though. Might check it now, its 9:20 in Brisbane.

Dear forumers,

I would like to know when the August 2007 applicants will get receipts. I mean, get their visa application charge (VAC) deducted from the card. The tracking shows, my application reached ASPC on 28 August but no information yet on VAC deduction. Would appreciate your response in this regard.

We too are August 2007 applicants (our 136 arrived 27th August) and are waiting for receipts and charge to be deducted.

If you send a blank email to [email protected] on a Wednesday (it is updated every week on Tuesday's end of the day ozzie time) you will receive a return email (takes about 10 mins) detailing where the ASPC is with the processing/receipting of applications. I have already deleted last weeks from my emails but I thinks that they are only just receipting dates in July so it will be a few more weeks before they get to us.

Another useful indicator is to put yourself on the August timeline www.freespaces.com/britishexpats/Aug07 where you can keep up-to-date with where all the other August Applicants who have joined the timeline are in the process.

I was kinda surprised to see that apps from almost a year back (Nov 2006) yet haven't been allocated to case officers? When assigned to a case officer what sort of time ranges are we talking about?

A friend sent his 136 in last October, CO in February and visa granted July (this included a massive delay in getting overseas police checks). I think these updates are seriously misleading.
