But your suggestion that the corruption and difficulties faced by ordinary Indian people everyday is nothing like that suffered by foreigners and can be just dismissed is so very, very wrong. They were born there and most have little choice to leave. If they have property however large or small it is everything to them. (No benefit system and council housing in India, losing their property means moving in with a relative, no other option.)
I have every right to express this view, without the head banging and yawns.
I could relate any number of stories but will not increase your boredom.
As I have said before all Indian people I have spoken to condemn the situation of foreigners in Goa.

1. Please feel free to pm me a specific explanation concerning the exact meaning of that post.....the 'literal' meaning of your words accuses me of viewing Indians as a lesser people, which would be a rtacist viewpoint by any standards, therefore if you accuse me of one you accuse me of the other....!!
2. I DID NOT AT ANY TIME state that Indian people have no property problems, nor did I at any time state that their problems were lesser or 'dismiss' their problems as you put it.
What I DID point out is that the two sets of problems are DIFFERENT and that the example you cited, which appears to be a boundary dispute, cannot be compared with what is going on with the DoE investigatees, nor can the consequences of the two be compared.
The head banging is because instead of actually reading my post, you 'read into' my post as something that it isn;t, and then labour the same point over and over

Now if you wish to continure splitting hairs please take it to pm as is the appropriate route at this juncture !

The point is the vast majority are not in the UK, so have the same hassles as you do in various forms. You also are in India Noni, (with property) each day is a struggle.!!!! (Wish I was there though).

You should not be drinking, however much you think you need it, you naughty girl. :sneaky:

Do we need a Take It Outside forum in this section? ;) :D

Just to clarify Moderators and Concierges are members first and foremost and just as entitled to their opinions as everyone else. All I ask is that everyone is courteous towards another member even if the other person has a differing opinion on an issue. We can't all agree, and it would be a boring world if we did ... but .... we can be mindful of how we approach a discussion on an emotive issue/topic.

We all have different experiences in life and it is often those experiences that form our opinions on certain matters. To that end, sometimes we may find we are very entrenched in our own opinions, therefore nothing will divert us from the way we feel. So if we come across another person who has a differing opinion than our own, and they are also very entrenched in their opinion, no matter how one argues we aren't going to change the other person's mind or vice versa. So in those instances I feel it's better to agree to disagree otherwise we just go around and around in circles.

Just to clarify to others, in view of your remark about me "not reading", As I said it was land taken not a boundary dispute. Land loss is land loss regardless of your nationality origins and costs money. Not opinion actual fact. Anyway all in the past.
Have sent PM as requested.

Can you lighten up a little Dread?? After all you are already in the sought after Goa. I have finished part of my wine stash and going to bed, in cold rainy UK.

Naughty Bipat. sleep well.

Perhaps we should have a Goa BE Bar for us all to pop into. All drinks free of course. Might even get some real ale for
J5. Honey Bee, and more Honey Bee for me, or Champers.
p.s. my gorgeous Film Star neighbour, gave me a Fortnum and Masons gift box with bottle of Champagne in the top draw, with two drawers of Champagne Truffles, Would rather him come around as he was as Mr. Darcy.

Goa’s criminal justice system and Foreigners

10 Jan: Goa Streets. Advice for crime victims in Goa: Don’t be foreign … there is something particularly tragic about the manner in which criminal cases involving foreigners are handled…. between January 2011 and June 2012, police data reveal there were 50-odd cases involving foreign nationals. Only one of those cases has run its full course. Thirty other cases are still ‘being investigated’ and the balance are ‘closed for investigation’ … Goa annually attracts half a million foreign tourists, one third of its resident population but there is no tailored mechanism to handle crimes involving them
