Hi All...

I am starting to put together a list of prices for our volunteers and wanted to share with you.

http://www.EducatorsTrustIndia.org/V...ndia-Costs.htm

Also if you could could anyone recommend any good (and cheap/good value) restaurants I should add I'll go and visit (and eat ;) and then add sample prices (any excuse for some good food).

They really want to have good food and good prices as volunteers generally can't spend a lot.

For example

Big Banana have a beautiful Steak Burger and chips for 120 Rs /-

Also interested to know what people buy who come here for long term. I'll also add that to the list.

What food they cook at home etc...

Thanks

Rob

Nice to see he has found a new charity to benefit from his tireless efforts. Goes to show you can't keep a good man down......:)

A terrible tragedy - we are in Aldona and one of the local residents came and tried to tell us something had happened, but we couldn't follow what he was saying.
While it is a trajedy, how many people, including children, are killed on Goa's roads every week? Cancelling Carnival was a silly, and probably political response.

P.S. The comments at the end of the ToI article give a terrible insight into the poisonous state of Indian society.

The chicken curry in Birmingham may not taste the same anymore. And the blame for this lies squarely with the United Kingdom's new immigration policy. The new rules make it impossible for specialised chefs from India to move to Britain.

"Under the rules for Tier 2 skilled migrants, chefs from non-European Union countries who will be allowed to work in the UK have to earn a minimum amount of £30,000 annually. This is far too high and the restriction has badly hit Indian restaurants in the UK," says Keith Vaz, a Labour MP. Vaz, whose family is from Goa, has been a vocal critic of the new immigration rules.
