Yes, but the quote stated "after passing through the security check at Heathrow---"
There will be people going to different countries on different airlines, not just to India. How would they select out those travelling to India?

(Also the tunnel to France is unique in that the actual 'border' would be under the sea, correct me if this is wrong.)

Heathrow is British territory Indian officials could only be there at invitation.

I wonder if the original poster made a typing mistake and that he meant Mumbai Airport, it is not uncommon to be questioned again after going through passport control.

Maybe J5 will explain?

Yes you are right, but you must admit there is a difference between movement between two specified European Union countries at seaports.

Heathrow airport serves the travel of a multitude of people travelling all over the world on different airlines, as I said before how would you select out the people travelling to India, for special interrogation directly after security?

Has anyone on this Forum been questioned by 'Indian officials' at Heathrow?

I have certainly (when travelling alone) been questioned after passport control at Mumbai, not about drugs but about "why do you travel so often, and purpose of travel"). They always have believed what I said!!!

I did a bit of Googling on this and it seems to concern only Dover/Folkstone to/from Calais; most passengers (perhaps understandably) were confused as to who checked whom where - but the consensus was that by arrangement between UK and France everything is checked at the boarding point (facilitating rapid disembarkation at the other end). There seemed to be no consensus as to which country's agency was doing the checking.
Remember that there is a heavy historical agenda of people smuggling problems on these routes.

Any one else see the photograph of Vaseline Vaz supporting Valenka ( Wankah ) Alemao in The Herald ? Its a pity the code of conduct doesnt apply to him supporting one of the most corrupt families in Goan politics. But then again politicians are not known for being morally upright are they. And in Vazs case, the self appointed Indian community leader in the UK,he will do any thing for publicity to keep his face in the press.

D.H.Vaz is in India supposedly consoling the family of that murdered student, who lived in North India and was murdered in Manchester.Thats his unofficial reason for being here.As i said he is entirely self promoted. He will do anything to get his fat face in the papers.I dont know what his constituents think when he decides to fly off to India to give support to a family from India in the middle of the grieving process for a lost son ?Then to make matters worse he then gives publicity to one of the worst political figures in Goan history.Churchill Alemao....Remember the great silver scam of the early 90s which involved his brother who was a customs officer in Goa ?That was the basis of the Alemoa fortune, a robbery.......So in sense Vaz is associating with a criminal dynasty and since he is of Goan extraction he will know of the Alemaos past sins.No excuse for this pathetic excuse of a New Labour politician who is a very close friend of , guess who.....Tony Blair. Said enough.
