LOBO is actually Portuguese for WOLF - what's the saying about "wolf in sheep's clothing"?
I think anyone with a modicum of sense must realise that there must have been stray dogs in Goa long before there were foreign tourists, and there will continue to be stray dogs until a stronger governmental policy of neutering exists. Many long-term foreigners have their "adopted" dog or cat neutered at Animal Rescue in Assagao, which goes a little way to keeping the numbers of newborns down, but it is still not enough. Time for the Goans themselves to accept some degree of responsibility and dig deep into their pockets, but then "wolves will fly".........sorry, "pigs...." - suffering from the effects of seeing some sunshine for a change here in Blighty:rofl::rofl::rofl: There is no animal rescue, only had a vet for last few years. it is a situation that needs to be dealt with seriously. I have e-mailed Maneka Gandhi 'animal' website about the situation in Goa several times but no reply. |

Treasure hunts are fun! we had to be towed out of a ditch by a farmer and his tractor on one treasure hunt when the driver (not me) leant over to look at the clues and turned the driving wheel at the same time.
Speed cameras etc etc! |

ASHLEY: INDIAN 'CHILD ABUSE' CASE TO BE DECIDED IN OCTOBER
HALIFAX, WEST YORKSHIRE An alleged paedophile accused of abusing orphans in India will learn in October whether he is to be extradited. Martin Ashley is charged with being part of a sex ring which molested young boys in Goa between 1986 and 1992, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard. The 64-year-old appeared in court under the name Raymond Varley, having changed his name by deed poll following a conviction for similar crimes in 1985. A lawyer representing the Indian government previously told the court others had already been given life sentences for their roles in the child abuse ring. Emma Collins, defending, said she will argue that extraditing Ashley could breach his human rights www.goanvoice.org.uk. - human rights my arse, what about the dear little boys |

23 Jul: Outlook. Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today assured the Assembly that Russian and Israeli enclaves (colonies) would not be tolerated in the state… He was responding to the concern raised over the Israelis and Russians creating their own enclaves in Goa, who have been in the state for a long time… "Those who put up the board in foreign languages (scripts) will not be given trade licences," he added
www.goanvoice.org.uk " Foreign nationals like Russians and Israelis, who are on long term visas, have created their own colonies in the state's coastline villages like Morjim, Arambol, Calangute and Anjuna." how long are their visa's? http://news.outlookindia.com/items.aspx?artid=769703 |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
You really shouldn't take anything seriously that is published by outlook, Navhind times, or the Goan Herald. They just make up stories based on things they hear at cheap bars in town, on notes they take while sloshed.
'twas ever thus. |
