Hello Helen, I am hoping to fly out next month, I am still emptying my house, it is amazing how much rubbish is accumulated over a period of time, plus August being school holidays, the flights are quite a fair bit more expensive, and to be totally honest not too sure where to go either Perth or Brisbane area, still doing plenty of homework at the moment,

Reading various posts, it sounds as if Perth has more options at the moment. It would probably be cheaper to fly to Perth, then if it doesn't work out, get a cheap internal flight to Brisbane (think I saw an advert today for $169). Would there be work for you in Brisbane, though, or would it involve moving to Gladstone?

Do you like humid weather, or dry? Another point in Perth's favour: we can get Lincolnshire pork sausages here (bit of a drive, but worth it). No decent pork pies or haslet, though, perhaps you could bring a haslet recipe with you:D.

Doesn't sound very environmentally friendly, though, don't think it would suit:p.

I seriously hope you will be happy here but until you have actually lived here you cant possibly know how bad things can get even in small towns at night.

I admit I do not know a great deal about Australia that's why I come on this site, to find out where to look for work, cheap places to live, instead all I get is that I am expecting too much, got news for you I am not expecting anything. The one thing I do remember about Brisbane, leaving a bar walking through the city centre, early morning just as the clubs/pubs was kicking out and there was hardly any police presence there, and no sign of any trouble, and this from a major city, and this was the case nearly all the time I was there.

You can learn from family, friends, acquaintances and media but I accept there is nothing like personal experience

Now, tell us why you are such an expert on so much of the UK.

I cant say I am anymore of an expert on the UK than anyone else on here

And now tell us why you've ping ponged so much between the UK and Australia? Don't you think it's time you added a bit of variety into your life? Do Canada, New Zealand or South Africa perhaps?

Re: Why is everyone so serious ?

I have already answered the last time you asked me and as I said then I haven't actually ping ponged at all. To ping pong I would have to dislike where I was and to move to look for something better but every time we have moved is for work or we have moved just because we could. The last time we came here we moved to Brisbane instead of Victoria as it would be an adventure, somewhere we hadn't lived before.
I hope that satisfies your curiosity ;)

Exactly my point.....but I would suggest less of an expert than those that live there. It works both ways.

The oodles of comparisons you seem compelled to make about the UK versus Australia are therefore questionable or at least less valid than they might appear.
