We did have a nice meal last night. Much to Eden's disappointment we couldnt go to Pizzahut as it was really busy - but we went to a Harvester restaurant about 20mins drive from where we live....and it was nice. Both her and Jared enjoyed their dinners anyway....and the fruit skewers with ice-cream and strawberry coulis meant Eden wasnt too upset about missing out on the Icecream Factory! Then we came home - and my younger brother and his wife popped round with her presents - we did her birthday cake - and thankfully her and Jared were in bed by 8.15pm still! It was weird as it was the 1st birthday of hers that she's spent in school all day....so strange not spending the whole day with her... My older brother is driving down from York today to see us all - haven't seen him for a while so that will be nice. Hopefully he'll come to Legoland with us and the kids tomorrow....
My younger brother is in my bad books after last night.....he was criticising the fact that i want to move into my Mum&Dads for 1-2 weeks after selling the house so that we can finalise some loose ends before flying....He thinks we shouldnt....i dont know how i bit my tongue and didnt ask him what the hell it has to do with him! :curse: I just said it would be nice for the kids to spend time with their grandparents before they dont see them for at least a year or so.....so that shut him up! :curse: I'm sure my Mum&Dad would be miffed if we stayed in a hotel or with other friends instead... Andy said i should have asked him if he was offering up his two spare bedrooms
We were going to do exactly the same thing and stay with my Dad for a few weeks....not an easy choice as he has re-married since my Mam died and she is not my cup of tea (trying to be polite!!) , but the boys are so close to my Dad I wouldn't have let her get in the way of them spending time with him and Glen (brother who still lives at home) What was your brothers reason for saying it was a bad idea???

OMG I can't spell today

Everytime we go to go to our closest Harvester its always Full!! So I have never been to one !!! Having a KFC month....I don't know why i'm craving them ...I don't usually eat them!!

I hope mine isn't 10lb!! Ryan was 9lb and that was big enough thank you!!

Kirsty off that Location,Location programme had an 11lb11oz baby didn't she?? wonder if it was a natural birth??

Hi Zo, my younger brothers a bit of a control freak where my Mum&Dad are concerned... Because they both suffer from ill-health he seems to think that we're just going to put upon them... I wouldnt mind but i've already suggested it to my Mum previously and she didnt mind! To be honest it would be for the shortest amount of time we could get away with. He takes it upon himself to remind me "not" to visit my Dad if any of the kids are unwell. (my Dad has to have oxygen at home due to a chest illness)....AS IF i would visit him knowing that he might catch a cold/flu etc etc :curse::curse:
He's as bossy as hell at work....but forgets that you cant quite get away with it with big sisters too!
I remember reading about Kirsty from location location's baby....and yes that was VERY big! She may have had tears in her eyes if it was a natural birth! I like her - think she's very good on the programme. Did you watch the celebrity Apprentice the other night with her on it. I liked the way she got the hump with the bossy one...and said "dont call me darling - i am NOT your darling! - classic!

Hi

We have had a mixed reaction from my younger brother, my older brother lives in USA, my mum lives on her own, twice divorced and does not look after herself at all, drinks too much, smokes too much, eats all the wrong things, does not take her various medications, and spends money all the time with no means to pay it back!
So we have been getting the odd dig, which I think boils down to my brother being worried he will be the only one to sort it all out, if anything goes wrong.
I take his point too, but my mother chooses to live her life in her own way despite me and OH having spoken to her about things before.
Should we stay in the UK because my mother is irresponsible?

We don't think so but I can see this becoming an issue when we do finally set a date to go.

I know....sometimes families can be a nightmare!
My brother has obviously spoken to my Mum this morning following our conversation last night......and guess what - surprise surprise my Mum has now "agreed" that it probably wouldnt be a good idea if the 4 of us move into their house once we complete on the house....:curse::curse: I have had friends offer already - but when there's 4 of you - you dont like to impose...
so we may be looking at spending the minimum time here now - possibly a couple of nights in a hotel or something....and we'll leave whatever we cant get sorted in those couple of days with one of my close friends..
To say i'm pissed is an understatement! :curse::curse:

Thank you Kerry,

Lovely to meet you. I think Tassie is very much a hidden jewel. We try and keep it a secret, but more and more are finding out about it. Lol.

Just what you need, how come they have now changed thier minds??

If we sell the house (please) and get the visa (pretty please) we may have to stay somewhere for a week or 2 to get last minute things organised, we don't have any family near, so will probably use a holiday cottage or similar.

When are you off to Tas?
