Yes, Lewis (the singer in my band) lives in Claremont, home of the Cadbury's factory.

Not my first choice in suburbs to live though, usually features in the Mercury's daily crime report.

Anywhere south of Newtown would be my preferred option, or on the eastern shore south of Lindisfarne.

Hee Hee! Pretty painful though

These kids of mine had better not forget Mothers' Day when they are older!!

Hope your House sale hurries up...I know it's the most frustrating thing EVER:curse:
Yeah, I had forgotten how much hassle and stress it is when you are selling your house.

Just had a huge KFC and the heartburn is great!!!

Off to sit down and veg xxx

Hotel Babylon-Trash tele roll on!!
Once kids are in bed (and they are driving me nuts tonight, arguing about everything) I'm going to sit down with a big glass of wine and watch Babylon too!

oh no that's a shame - saw a lovely house just down the road from the water for sale there..... i wonder if you can smell any smells from the chocolate factory there??? Back to realestate.com.au and the Hobart area map again i think!
What sort of crimes are normally listed in the Mercury's daily crime report then? is it general stuff - or is there anything ever major on there?

there's a daily quarter-page listing burglaries and thefts by suburb, the big stuff gets it's own article in the main part of the paper.

I had on a black dress with blue bits.
I did have a front row seat lol.. but didnt sit in it.

It was so funny how everyone just ran for the front of the stage.

Hi Monica - welcome to the Tassie thread. Are you a British ex pat or Australian and how long have you lived in Tasmania?

Hi.
Im Australian,
I have just turned 18 a couple of weeks ago and have lived here my whole life.

Its a beautiful place, dont think i could ever leave, i have been to Melbourne and Sydney, and although i love those two places, i find it too "fast".
if that makes sense.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes.. only found this place through google.
Was looking to see if i could find any reviews on Guy Sebastian.

Hi Monica - so you're a real Tassie local then! Nice to hear from someone that really loves the place that they've grown up in and where they still live.

Belated congratulations on turning 18 recently.... I can vaguely remember my 18th You might just make a few of us posters feel our age!

Are you working or still studying? (sorry if i'm being nosey - but always curious about everyone! )
Cathy

That sounds interesting - how long are your courses for? Are you planning on working around the Launceston area's afterwards? I just had to look up to see where Longford was as i've not come across that area before and saw that you're in the North of the island... How often do you venture down South? Is it mainly to see shows etc? if you dont mind me asking - have you always found plenty of things to do to keep you amused? I know some people have worried about what the Island may be like for when our own children get older (not that i guess we can predict that far ahead in the future)....but do you know many people that have moved over to the mainland in search of more choice of jobs etc once they've finished their studies?

As you're from the North of the Island - are you at all familiar with a place called Ulverstone? We're planning on moving to the Hobart area's once our UK house is sold - but my partner was contacted by a company based in Ulverstone so we are curious to find out anyone that knows the places' opinion on the town....

thanks! (and that'll be it for my questions today! )
Cathy
