Out of interest - do any popular bands/artists play in Tasmania occasionally - or do people tend to have to visit places like Melbourne for the really big gigs?
I have a very varied taste in Music - but do like a big gig every now and then...

That looks really good....Cant say i know all the artists - but at least i know the older ones!
I wont bother asking whether you have your tickets already
Not bad price as well $124 a ticket - that's good for an all day event...Must say that the Botanical gardens venue looks somewhat nicer than Hyde Park or somewhere similar that such an event would be held over here!
The nearest weekender event for us every year is the V Festival held at Chelmsford in Essex (only 30mins drive from us) - but it's manic....way too many people - and too many things going on at the same time - you just dont get to enjoy everything as you're always missing out on something!
I notice one of the sponsors for the SouthernRoots show is Jim Beam.....One of my best friends that is - alongwith his mate Jack D.....

we're going to the Bluesfest at Byron Bay in NSW which is the "parent" of the Tassie festival:

That sounds really good. I know Andy's been to Byron Bay and loved it there... Great that your brother is coming out from the UK to meet you there.
I'll bet you'll all be knackered after the event and the old alcohol levels will have had a major boost!

I must admit i have a soft spot for the BeeGee's - used to have a thing about Barry Gibb when i was younger - sadly in his medallion days! Andy likes to give me a bit of stick whenever one of their old video's comes on...I must have been drunk when i admitted that one the 1st time!
I do occasionally play their greatest hits though - some of their music is great...Me and my friends like a good tribute band - we're big fans of Bjorn Again the Abba tribute band - they're really good - and whenever we've seen them the audience are great - often dressing up in 70's gear and wigs - really good fun!

All of you guys that have already done the move - did you find it all gets a bit much sorting out what stuff to take with you? I have sorted out some of our books (i have tons of travel books) - and i know i shouldnt really bring them all - but the thought of getting 20p a book on either E-bay or at a Car-boot sale is somewhat frustrating! I think we'll end up bringing more stuff like books etc than we will furniture

Did anyone bring any wooden ornaments with them in their containers???
I've asked the question before on the site and many people dont bother bringing them....but i'd hate not to bring some of ours as they're from Africa.
Andy also has a shield from Africa - the shield part is animal skin, the spears both metal and wood - i know he'd be gutted if he couldnt bring that either....
I know we probably need to ask the shippers what they think but i'm worrying about these kind of things already...i'm thinking sod the furniture - i love all my personal nick nacks more!

And he's pissing himself laughing at his own joke!
