Not sure what he doesn't like about koalas, says they have funny noses and odd expressions!
I don't mind any furry animals, its the insects, well just spiders really, that I have huge problems with

We called Eden out to come have a look - and she stopped dead about 15 foot away from it when she saw it's size! It's one of the more harmless kind though....or so i've been told

I think we've probably been spoilt being British - not having too many horrible insects about... worst thing in my garden is the mozzies in the summer!

Talking of houses...just had the guy come to do the energy efficiency survey for our Homebuyers Report. Cost us £400 for the report - i know they include searches etc too - but he was here for 10 minutes! :curse: and 3 minutes of that was him borrowing my Loo! (not that i was counting - but i was hoping it wasnt a number 2!

) About time this country took a good look at it's house buying/selling laws i think....

Yeah, we had the HIP report done last year........paid £384 for ours :curse:
Bloke let me change all my light bulbs for the energy efficient ones (which were under the sink still in boxes...LOL) as that makes a difference for the report. We were classed as a Band C.
We could have put solar panels and a wind turbine on the roof to improve it to a Band B.......like NOT!!!!!!!

You know that's excellent if you're a band C. Must be because your's is a new house...
Our estate agent told us that most of the houses they have reports for come in at a D or an E - with improvements only going up to a C so your's is good.....We need a new boiler so we're expecting a low score
Whats a joke though is that we were also told that the only people that have asked to see the homebuyers reports are the ones actually buying a house - because then they dont need fork out for searches as part of their conveyancing fee's! Most people aren't fussed about them! :curse: bloody government!
Hope the solicitor will ask for it when we sell.
Band C is great.......but it was funny that the comments for gaining a higher rating suggested the wind turbine and solar panels!!!!

Good luck with selling your house.........totally stressed selling mine......been on the market for 47 weeks now and knocked £40k off

and they dont come cheap! We had only one of our viewers turn up yesterday....it was raining at the times the others were meant to come. Not sure if Andy has spoken to the EA yet - but he was going to have a good moan. Even the one that turned up was 30minutes late! :curse: and she was annoying - just flouncing about the place! Made us laugh though as she was going on about starting on the property ladder late in life (she was 24!
)....and that they were looking for an ordinary house until they could get something better!
She said she'd get her boyfriend round for a look too - cant say i'm in a rush for that if they do come back again!
What was embarrassing though was because she was 30mins late - we were waiting to start dinner - and after 20mins we said sod it - so when she decided to knock there was saucepans everywhere - a cooked chicken that i was cutting up - and clutter all in the kitchen - typical or what - 30mins earlier it had been empty and spotless!

I really hope you have good news on your house. I know i've said it before - but your house is really lovely - and people must be mad not to have bought it even before you dropped such a huge amount off the asking price...
I'm keeping my fingerscrossed for you!

I'm not a great lover of insects - but if i dont think about them (or see them then i'll probably be alright!
)...
As long as i dont see spiders resembling the size of the following one we saw in Perth i'll be fine!

Cathy, that's a Huntsmen spider... we get them here in Tassie as well. They can grow quite large, almost the size of a hand-span. If there are fruit trees about, they seem to be seen more frequently.
Honestly, they look scarier than they actually are. I'd much prefer one of those around the house than a Red-back spider.

How do you get rid of any red-backs? do you have to spray your houses or anything? I know they prefer dark - and undisturbed places to hide...

I said to the guy today - would you mind taking your shoes off - and the silly sod said "ok, but is it ok to put them back on when i go out in the garden!"..... I dont know- some people eh? I should have said no - get your socks all dirty - and knock the cleaning cost off what you charged us!

Other than that, just spray your outdoor furniture every now and again to keep them at bay.
Redbacks aren't really a big problem here.

We do the shoe thing too - otherwise our cream colour carpet in the living room and up the stairs/landing would NOT be that colour anymore!
