Hi there
That shop looks very interesting....i love gift shops and what i call "odds & sods" type shops that sell a little bit of everything....Im sure i've heard of Latrobe before - but i cant recall why.... is it famous on the Island for something? I've probably read about it somewhere.... I remember reading about Deloraine and that its famous there for artists/crafts etc...
Saw a couple of little shops like that in Hobart whilst we were over last year.
So your baby is due in June - not long now then!
Where are you living? is your baby being born in a hospital in Launceston or Devonport? Cathy

This will be our first baby so a bit nervous about it, Vikky is having the birth at a birth centre in Launceston, Vikky is being a bit of an earth mum which is fine and I am supporting her in this.
Also means we are using cloth nappies. Might be more hassle but in the long run it is a lot cheaper. And greener. Or is that browner?? LOL

I think all new parents to be are nervous! Me and Andy didnt have much experience with babies as most of our friends didnt or still dont have kids....so apart from relatives and the odd baby - i hadnt changed a nappy for years! But it all comes naturally to most people....once you hold that baby you'll know what i mean!
The one thing i would always tell parents to be is that babies arent as fragile as you think they are. 2nd time around in the hospital with Jared i was watching some of the 1st time Mums change their babies bottoms - and even watching them dress them was painful (i'd probably been the same) - but they were being sooooo gentle with moving their arms / legs etc that it was taking them more than 20minutes to get their bums changed and a sleepsuit on them!
I laughed to myself - thinking give it a few weeks and they'll be doing that in less than 5 minutes!
I think Dads are even more cautious with babies if they're not used to them...because they're scared of hurting them...especially if they're little!
I must say that it's great you're going to use cloth nappies - i do remember my Mum using them for my younger brother when he was a baby....but i hate to admit i've never used them for either of my two..
I imagine it's fine using them - just extra soaking and washing to do! You'll soon get into a routine with them - after all - disposables havent been around for that many years.....so all our parents probably used cloth nappies! They must just get worse once you start weaning! Anyway, enough of this poo talk....might put the others off reading any more of our posts!

Hi Zo, I'll get a pic of the two kids on again later..you'll have to put up with one of me for now!

Good luck at the hospital. If you feel bigger i'm sure she's growing well! let us know how you got on later...

Andy once said that he was bloated after eating a huge dinner - and jokingly made his belly stick out. Eden was probably about 3 at the time and said that maybe he had a baby in his belly!

My hubby doesn't like koalas - says they give him the creeps

Maybe that's why he choose Tas, as I don't think they have any there?
Cute wallabies though.

i cant think what's creepy about a Koala
they dont move! I dont think i'd be frightened about one chasing me.....crocodiles chasing me would be more scary i think!

talking of babies in pouches.....who needs a pouch when you can use a tesco shopping bag?
