I wouldn't be surprised if Ikea doesnt open a store in Tas either...their stuff seems to be so popular. I dont mind some of their stuff but not all the ultra-modern / minimalist and plastic looking stuff - not my cup of tea! Saying that we did see a few nice bits yesterday though..but i am a fan of real wood furniture at heart.
I bet you're quite enjoying buying a few new bits for the new house... I know you had a fair bit of stuff from your rental and personal bits you shipped over - have you still got a lot to get now that you're in a bigger house?

I just looked up Bennetts - i see they have branches in Glenorchy and Kingston. We noticed in Perth (didnt look in Tas) that furniture / lighting etc is generally more expensive in Oz than in the UK.... Things like sofa's etc seemed to cost more. Still dont think we'll bring our leather sofa's over - do the furniture stores have sales often? Over here you can at the moment get a lovely 2 seater & 3 seater leather sofa for about £1,000 or even less in some places - how does that compare?
thanks

Yeah we bought Alex's bunkbeds in Bennetts. They have a very good range much better than fantastic furniture. The stuff we ordered from fantastic furniture is proper wood, not the knocked up chipboard, it was on a special deal. As you know we have a beautiful wood sleigh bed, to have crap furniture with that would be a sin!

Anyway we picked up Mash today would you like to meet her...................

aaahhh....she is well cute! I just called Eden over to the PC to have a look....We love the pic of her dozing.... I bet she's being spoilt with all the cuddling that's probably going on! Puppies are so cute. How's Alex enjoying playing with her?
I do remember your lovely sleigh bed - you're right - wouldnt be right not to have proper wood next to that!

Alex adores her, and she adores Alex, she keeps following him around. At the moment she is outside fast asleep in her kennel, bless her she howled and cried and pooped herself out.

Aaah, cute

We had someone come to see our dog yesterday, who is interested in having her if we take her
They loved her and are having her next weekend for a trial run
Can't bear the thought of not bringing her
Hubby definitely not keen on her coming, because of cost ($$$$) possible problem with finding a rental, time in quarantine, and not being able to take them to National Parks etc.
I still feel very

That's good... Dogs are funny little things - they adapt to new surroundings quite quickly - give it a week or so and she'll soon be thinking you're all her "pack" and wont remember being seperated from her siblings/mother.... It's nice for kids (and grownups) to have dogs - or other kinds of pets - i think that's why i'm feeling so guilty that we keep stopping Eden & Jared from having one...We had loads of different pets/animals when i was a kid. I just dont want them emotionally attached to a pet that would have to be left behind if we moved Will have to make it up to them when we're eventually able to get some though...
Eden and my parents little dog are exactly the same age....before my parents became really ill and Eden started nursery they looked after her from 3months old till she was about 2 1/2 for me 3days a week whilst i was at work. We have pics of Tess (she's a Jack Russell) and Eden lying beside each other on the floor when Eden was a baby - and her paw would be resting on Eden like they were holding hands...even now there's still quite a connection between the pair of them... I think that's the loveliest thing about dogs - they are incredibly loving and loyal...

Hi Sam. I really feel for you about your animals. Appreciate it must be terribly upsetting... Sounds promising that you may have found her some potentially good new owners though... Did you advertise somewhere to find a new home?

awe sorry to hear that Sam it must be heart breaking for you.

I know what you mean about putting the dog through all that flying then quarantine.... I don't think I'd be able to put a dog or any animal through that either.

We are very lucky here to have the acreage to keep her outside, she's used to being outside anyway, as that is where she was before. I think it was the first time she'd ever been in a house today. She has a lovely insulated kennel with a soft cushion, and Duncan has built her a big run.

I meant to ask you Sam - did your OH manage to do a car boot sale this weekend? I know last week's one got cancelled....
Andy was talking about doing one this weekend but the weather wasn't all that where we are yesterday and he changed his mind!

Hi

If it was just up to me, I'd bring our dog as I can't imagine being without her and I love going out for walks with her on my own, very relaxing!

She has always been in the house, very fond of our beds and sofa , so not sure how she cope with having to live outside if required by rental landlord.

Feel very confused about it, as well having to make some hard decisions about my horse, feel rather tearful at the moment.

Hi and thx!

Someone at one of the GP surgeries that my husband works at, mentioned ages ago they would be keen on having her and came yesterday to meet her. Within minutes the woman had made up her mind, think the husband was not so sure, but they will get to see how mad and dizzy she is next weekend, and if they still like her after that, then they must be keen!
They live near the Quantock Hills in Somerset, love walking etc so would be a great home for her - just me thats sad

Yeah, we've loaded the car (again!) and praying it does not rain, looks OK out there at the moment.
I'm off to work now, so managed to get out of doing it
I hate car boot sales!

Just hoping they don't come home with loads unsold, don't care if we give it away really, just want rid of it. Have been doing a really big sort out of files and old paperwork this week, can't believe we have so much stuff, we moved house twice only 3 years ago and I thought we had got rid of most of it then.

Have you had any viewers this weekend?

Sam
