Thanks Corinne... Early days for us though so i'm not overly worried - i feel more for the other guys on the thread that have been waiting ages to sell..
I hope they all get some good news soon.
We were initially hoping that Eden could finish school in July and then we could be out early August sometime - but that will all depend on the house. But that would be ideal as then she wouldnt need to return to school come September.... how are the kids finding school in Lindisfarne? and is Mark getting on ok at work?

Hi hon, Mark is loving his work. Kids have settled in great. Millie was in Year 2 in the UK but now in Grade 1 and loving it, kids really friendly and she says the work is easy (he he think she will get a shock as they do Grade 1/2 mixed so she will go back to working to her ability he he) wont tell her that one. Harvey is loving Kindie, he was in full time school in UK in Reception so going from full time to only doing 2 full days is great for him, his planning park trips and beach trips whilst his sister is at school, he just wants me to put Jo into a daycare centre!!!! (not happening) he he.

Yeah know the house is early days, know the emotions that I felt when it was all going on, whats harder is with the kids keeping the house tidy etc, remember dumping mine in front of the TV and not letting them get too many toys out in case I had a call for an immediate viewer!!!! I know that originally I didnt want mine going back in September but they had to as house didnt sort out etc in time. THey finnished begining of November and we came out here, the Head said not to worry about putting them in straight away so that they could settle, then they had Christmas off then the school hols so schools out here didnt go back till Feb 14th !!!! long time for the kids being off school, with hindsight I would have put them into school straight away (even if it was lazy weeks for schooling before christmas) once we had sorted the rental rather than no wanting to drop them in it as they were off school far too long.

Tasmania!!! lol, no seriously the Eastern Shore area, we love Lindisfarne (not the scorpions and huntsman though he he) but love Acton Park, Geilston Bay, Howrah and Tranmere etc. Like Blackmans Bay on the other side of the river too but a little built up. Had a huge property mag last week, 96 pages, but the only things I liked were either out of my price range or too far away from Hobart to commute (eg Nubeena and White Sands).

Thats great the kids are settled - and that Mark is loving his job. I must say that you sound much happier yourself this time around...
I wonder if Eden would end up not doing full-time school? She'll not be 6 until March 09. i think you're right about putting them in school as soon as possible though - it probably helps get them into a routine quicker... Eden's a nightmare trying to keep entertained when she's off school - she's one of those kids that's permanently bored! For now we've told the estate agent we dont want any viewers during the day or of an evening... Weekends only at the moment when both me and Andy are about. Whether that'll work out of our favour i'm not sure...but if too much time goes on then we'll obviously change that... I'm starting to wonder about what to do regarding handing my notice in at work. Do i do it once we have a buyer - do i do it after exchanging contracts? Problem i have is that i have to work 8 weeks notice as part of my contract! I think i'll have to have a chat with work - as there's no way i could do the notice after exchange incase it's only a couple of weeks between the dates.... One good thing about Andy's job - he can leave whenever he chooses to! One advantage of being self-employed i guess!

Anyway, i'll say bye for now....need to do some bits around the house...
take care all!
Cathy

I think Eden will go into Prep out here, to go into Kindie they have to be 4 by 1st January in the year that they are going to attend school. Harvey just missed the date as he was 4 on 16 January 07 . Millie was 6 in July 07 so she went into Year 1 at the beginning of the school year here 14 Feb 08. What year is Eden in in the UK?

Mark handed in his notice once we had exchanged contracts, he only had to work 1 month though.

Ok then....

A friend came out of his house in Lachlan and though his son had left a rubber (toy) snake on the decking. He kicked it , but it was real Tiger Snake!!! it turned round and bit his boot! lucky he was wearing safety boots.

One of my mate's at work was driving out of the forrest and a Tiger Snake was crossing the track, he drove toward's it to run it down when it reared up against the Ute? he said it was over the bullbars when he hit it and it then bounced off the windscreen.

Me personally I walked over (nearly standing on it) a Tiger Snake but fortunately I did'nt know it untill I saw my mates crapping themselves !!! but by then it had done the offski!!!

But remember these were all in the bush so don't have nightmares.
