We was having a birthday meal for a friend from work at a place just outside Launceston with a wonderful view. We was watching people put boats into the river from the restuarant. Then I said to a friend look that cars a long way in the water. All you could see was the cab of the ute and the bonnet. So we had a laugh about that, Then 10 mins later it had sunk compleatly!!!!! :curse: OMG. So they messed around and 1 hour later still not much done, We went round to our friends for a cup of tea, And when we was leaving I said lets nip past. We got down to the jetty and there was around 50 people watching. The car was just being pulled out. It was a 2001 Holden ute. Looked quite shiny to not sure if that was with the car having a bath???
Here are a couple of pictures.

Well our viewing went really well earlier today.....
I actually knew the lady that came round. Had been wondering about the name the estate agent gave us - and it was the person i thought it might be!
I said to Andy i must have psychic powers!
The couple stayed for 35 minutes - which is a long while isn't it for a viewing?
and went around on their own again after Andy had shown them around everywhere...
Her sister / Nan live just nearby - i actually know her Nan - and i think she's trying to move back to the area because she grew up around here...
Her partner has just moved from Brixton in London - so the area must seem like paradise compared to some parts of there!
They even asked for the living room measurement etc again as they were sizing up where things of theirs would fit which i think is a good sign...

So keep your fingerscrossed everyone for us......we're hoping to hear something - although they still have a 1-bedroomed flat to sell so there would be a chain anyway.... But maybe the karma i've been given recently is going to kick in this weekend!!!!!

Have a great weekend people!
Cathy

Hi Folks
I am still interested can't keep up with the hectic pace of all these postings.I am not allowed to use the rural satellite broadband we have that is reserved for son and Mrs Oldgit.I am allowed to use dial up cos i pay for it
I am a two fingered typist and loading up the pics at 33K though I pay for 56 K means I am a little slower than everybody else.
I am wrapped that you made it here. And you sound to be really settling in /have settled in.
i come on at about 10.30 pm far too late having drunk 2 tumblers of wine like your kids drink coca cola and I am always "happy" and in great spirits.
I am seriously challenged when it comes to sending postings but I stick at it .
Migration ..... we all deserve a medal....
Look after yourselves
Cheers Oldgit

Hi cathy
You deserve a seat in heaven for showing such restraint.
Wouldn't it be nice if Andy could legally weld that blokes car to the nearest metal lampost

Love to see some pics of the animals near you - she'd love to see them....

Hi Cathy
Well we can start with the Irish Connemara ponies and maybe i will PM you with the rest as we go along in case the other contributors might get bored .
So Eden pics 1 2 and 3 are of Irish horses brought into Australia.
Cheers Oldgit

Hi Oldgit - up late again i see! You really shouldn't worry about your postings so much - there's nothing wrong with them! we cant see how fast you type - so for all we know it could take you 2 seconds to do a message!

If he was a stranger and not the person that we HAVE to live next door to - it might have been different!
I did worry for a second last night when Andy said he'd let his car tyres down - for a minute i wasn't sure if he was joking Would be just Andy's luck that he'd get caught red-handed doing something like that!

Yes, it's lovely having a walk along the beach of an evening. You get some lovely sunsets to watch!

We have quite a few lovely little parks near the beach, great ones for kids to play on. Even a waterslide, which gets well used in Summer!

I took this pic of the coastline the other day. The setting sun was a beautiful blood red, but it was too bright for the camera. And the other one is a sunrise seen from my place.

Have a lovely weekend Oldgit.
Hiya Bzzzy bumblebbbbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeee
Yes it is . My Ulverstone Mate and his wife took me on the beach towards evening and it was gloriously cooling down after a hot summers day in 2006
And he is photography mad and i have lovely sunsets from him.Matching yours thankyou very much and for your lovely sunrise too.He never takes sunrises
You too have a lovely weekend and save me some flake and chips at the fish and chip shop on Reiby Street.Think its on Reiby Street.
Here is a pic taken today by the village green at Westbury (Meander Valley) where i do quite a bit of shopping.
Cheers Oldgit
