As for cheese there is lots of places that make cheese over here one of the companies is called Ashgrove http://www.ashgrovecheese.com.au/ they do all sorts of flavours. Another place is out past Scottsdale heading towards St Helens on the east coat. Pyganna(Probalby not spelt right) In Launceston there is a shop called Warsthaus which does lots of nice cheese from all over.

Noooooo....i wouldn't suggest to anyone that they move to Romford!
It's an ok place to live - but even though i have always lived here, i do see it's faults - which are growing year by year in my eyes....
Which is very sad...Our local hospital (a new one that cost more than £200mill to build) was even on the news on TV today - uproar because people are waiting up to two hours once delivered at the hospital by paramedics for a bed in A&E...
But there will always be a good few more places in England that would be a much worse place to live in my opinion... I have for the most part been very happy living in Essex...but its definitely time for a change...
I would like my kids to know when they're older though (especially if we live in Oz permanently) that the place they were raised did have some beautiful parts to it....
Thanks for the info on the places for cheese... All looks good to me!

Think you mean Pyengana-we went there a couple of months ago to the cheese emporium-all v tasty.
Then we went to the Pub in the Paddock to see the beer-drinking pigs:

We went to the Pyengana cheese place too, very scrummy, children particularly like the milkshakes too.
Didn't go to the Pub in the Paddock but went past it on the way to St Columba Falls where we were lucky enough to see an echidna snuffling about, very cute

Hi Oldgit - up late again i see! You really shouldn't worry about your postings so much - there's nothing wrong with them! we cant see how fast you type - so for all we know it could take you 2 seconds to do a message!
If he was a stranger and not the person that we HAVE to live next door to - it might have been different!
I did worry for a second last night when Andy said he'd let his car tyres down - for a minute i wasn't sure if he was joking
Would be just Andy's luck that he'd get caught red-handed doing something like that!

But that's what men like about us women, we're unpredictable, you never know what mood we might be in
Which makes us a bit exciting - but also a bit scary at times.....
Anyway, we do follow some rules, ie: the what i say goes rule!

There was me walking around the supermarket - up and down the same aisles a few times thinking "now where's the bloody beers!"
Then i came out of the shop - Andy put the bags in the car - and went "i'm just nipping into next door to get me beers!"...
He knew as he's been to Oz many times - but hadn't thought to tell me!!!!I had seen the bottle shops - but thought they were like our off-licenses over here....ie, you could get the stuff in both!
Do you find that youngsters can buy alcohol easily in those shops?
You see quite a few teenagers around Romford drinking of an evening - which i hate to see...

Yeah the pig in the padock is one of the local tourist haunts, There is also a waterfall near there can't remember the name but its a really good one.
The North East of Tassie is an underated place to visit. Scottsdale is a nice little place to visit too.

There was me walking around the supermarket - up and down the same aisles a few times thinking "now where's the bloody beers!"
Then i came out of the shop - Andy put the bags in the car - and went "i'm just nipping into next door to get me beers!"... He knew as he's been to Oz many times - but hadn't thought to tell me!!!!
I had seen the bottle shops - but thought they were like our off-licenses over here....ie, you could get the stuff in both!
Do you find that youngsters can buy alcohol easily in those shops?

It isn;t just in Romford its all over the UK. And some of them its scary to see them in such a state.I don't like to see it either.
I can;t answer as my local bottleshop is attached to a roadside motel out of town and the kids may go there but don't hang around.I live detached from town and city life which is why i often don't comment on specific queries.
We're out of it here.Its an interesting point i wonder if anyone else can shed any light.......??????

Still looking......it seems so sophisticated now and how primitive we were in the 1950's.
Then Wasdale was known only to serious climbers and Fell walkers.Whereas Windermere and Ambleside were much more popular.

Boy its been hot here today.....temperature was 32degrees when we got in our car earlier - did go down a bit - but it's still in the high 20's!
Certainly not used to this good weather in May - it's been nice for almost a week now - and i think its set to continue for a bit longer...
hows the weather been for everyone where you are???
So hot yesterday afternoon that when i got in from work we decided to go on a picnic for the evening....
Went to a place i will miss terribly when we eventually move as i've spent a lot of time over the years there.... Bedfords Park in Havering Atte Bower, just 5mins drive from where we currently live. My dad has although a gardener for his job - was always a fisherman in his leisure time - and i spent many days as a child over the fishing lake here with him, my Mum and my brothers....the park is a historic parkland site owned and managed by the London Borough of Havering. There's now a big visitors centre built on the site of the former mansion there, and depending on where you are the park commands superb views over much of east London and into Kent......the trees are absolutely beautiful and they have lots of protected deer there.
Sometimes with countryside like this on our doorstep i do wonder why we want to move from Essex......but then i drive back home and realise why all over again!
Anyway, if anyone's interested - Here's a couple of pics of the kids last night enjoying themselves at the park....

Yes I made exactly the same discovery when I first arrived having never been to Aus before nor knew anyone who had.Likewise i walked up each aisle nothing with any kick to it.Anyway an Aussie mate put me right.

I never drank anything apart from Babycham's and Snowballs when i was a teenager (and that was only at Christmas!
).... its one of the reasons whyAndy is so anxious to get away from this kind of area - as there are a lot of teenagers that hang about in the town centre here of an evening....most of whom are drinking, and especially since they were given free transport on buses - they certainly take advantage of it...jumping on and off a bus for just 1 or 2 stops!
As you know i work late afternoon/evenings - and can leave the office any time between 7.30pm & 9.30pm depending on when i've started. I can guarantee that there will be a teenager sitting at my bus-stop with friends drinking either a can of something or swigging out of a small bottle of vodka or such like..... I DO NOT want my daughter or son for that matter doing that....They can drink as much alcohol as they like when they're 18
Thankfully at the age of 5 - our daughter screws her nose up if she as much gets a whiff of a lager or beer!
