I do love a good yard sale. Are they catching on in England yet? Car boot sales always seemed a bit pikey to me.

Car boots used to be great for comic book hunters like me. Sadly that's all been ruined by e-bay these days.
I'm still waiting for that one person who thinks a Custom Shop Stratocaster is only worth $200.00, though ... |
Re: Pet Peeves?
What amazes me are the folk who try and haggle the sellers down from 50c for a plate or something. There's canny and then there's tight.

There are a lot of people on there who have a strangely skewed sense of what their crap is actually worth.

Re: Pet Peeves?
This reminds me of when, as a kid, I had to brave the dank, seedy sex shop run by a very shady character to buy those little 5p Battle Picture Library war story comic books. He had stacks of them in between piles of Mayfair and assorted smut.
I was sad when it got knocked down though as I was an older teen at that point and a potential customer. |

The fun is gone. I mean, I can ebay for the exact issue / condition / whatever and probably get it, but to me the fun is sucked out of it. It's just shopping.

Re: Pet Peeves?
haha...there was always a bag of porn on the railway siding or in the woods.
I assume passed on by a contrite hubby whose irate wife had discovered his stash. |

Ah, technology ... |
Re: Pet Peeves?
yes, you don't get the thrill of wondering if your mum has looked under your mattress or found that loose floorboard.

I will never forget the time I was cleaning my son's room back when he was 8 or 9, and I found the page he ripped out of one of the Hustlers that our old boss liked to keep in the men's shitter at work. |
Re: Pet Peeves?
I was always fine with Mum's Janet Frazer catalogue lingerie section!
