Pretty standard fare for small self checkouts. Those ones do appear to be designed for only a few items but I've been stuck behind people with obscene amounts of shopping using them. Then they pull out the ****ing coupons ...

Hey, don't knock coupons! If you aren't a member of the store club and bring coupons you are being ripped off.

I don't think 30c off a jar of mayonnaise is going to make me rich. I don't shop in stores that have clubs, but they do have sales on almost all the time.

Safeway is our local and the savings just by having the club card are insane sometimes. I think they just stopped doubling coupons which is a shame but sometimes you combine a sale with a doubled coupon and you're suddenly looking at free mayo (insert Homer Simpson drooling).

A bit late but the Friday before 4th of July is a good time to shop for mayo, ketchup etc.

They are set up such that you do not save by having a card, but are penalized for not having them

I can't be arsed with all that fannying about. Our local has decent enough prices and good sales, but then the cost of living isn't too bad up this way either.

You are right about the cheaper condiments on the run up to big barbecue days. Always good pop sales around holidays too.

I think this is why ours did away with them a few years ago. Now everyone gets the sale prices, they're just not as plentiful. Plus just about everyone had a card anyway, it was probably cheaper to just do away with them.

When you're turning right at the lights on a two lane stretch of roads, but some arsehat that is going straight over is stopped in front of you on a red light.

Stores that misspell words. A local store is having a clearence; another is selling suppliments.

They don't seem to be too bothered about that I guess, there was nothing to replace the cards to serve that purpose.
