Back to the weather, this is a map of the 8pm (as in eight at night after the sun has set) temperatures in the Phoenix metro.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CHl36jMUEAAT-Q1.png My eyeballs almost melted while walking the dog. I've been taking regular trips to Sedona just to escape. Tomorrow I'm back out to San Diego, and as much as I like Phoenix in the winter, summers are deeply uncomfortable. |

I can't remember which store I saw those freezer can holders in. If I take a bottle of water in the car, I maybe get a couple of mouthfuls from it before it becomes almost hand washing warm. It's 90+ almost 100F here. I'm trying to hibernate and not go out too much.

When an umpire subsequently admits he is cheating it requires reporting to the League officials, which is was. |

I agree with almost all your posts, but IMO that approach is akin to punishing the victim.

I did wonder about that. When I reffed soccer, we pretty much had a zero tolerance policy for parents (and, indeed coaches) who excessively heckled, questioned calles in a raised voice, As it was the kids were left wondering what was going to be called a strike and what wasn't. Then heard him admit he had a larger strike zone for one team than the other. Makes it very difficult to instil the don't argue with the umpire rule in the kids, or anyone else, when the umpire is and admits he was breaking the rules. |

So do we, but when an umpire has a different set of rules he is applying to one team and not the other then polite dissent is the least he should expect. All he got were shouts of bad call, or that bounced on the plate. It was he who came over and berated the parents, perhaps as he was cheating he should have kept his mouth shut.

Calling out 'come on ref' or similar is one thing, I nearly lost my voice doing that at a high school game myself. I don't know if it progressed beyond that in this case of course, because I wasn't there, but I suppose one has to remember that it is, when all's said and done, only a game. |

People who are unreasonable under circumstances nobody can control like a building fire.

Re: Pet Peeves?
Just saw someone has used the term 'worriment' in a document.
Cringed so hard I put a cramp in my neck. Then I looked it up and it indeed exists as a word. Now I'm worried I had a substandard education. |

When you're in a cinema and it's almost empty....and someone decides to sit a spot beside you.
Bugger off to that empty row in front you shit. These $1 summer movies might turn into quite a rant of irritants if this keeps up... |

Bit harsh Bob. Maybe next time don't take the kids with you if you want to be left alone.
Other people though, that just gets awkward. |
Re: Pet Peeves?
Quitclaim deeds and the bloody idiot legal system that means my wife has great credit but can't buy a house because her ex-husband didn't refinance the house prior to the finalisation of their divorce - meaning that she could still be liable to pay the mortgage on his house if he defaults????
