I know, and bubbles aren't a priority for me, but I can generate a metric shit-ton of them in my sink if I'm rather over exuberant with my squirting.

Smut intentional.

I would like to see that.

Put an old towel in the bath so you don't scratch it, and use boiling water to cover them.

We have a "old" (actually fairly new) tin bathtub that we use for ad hoc washing projects that I will use to give that a try. :)

I have this great mental image of your place with this Scrapheap Challenge like setup where you have some kind of solution for any unexpected project that might come up.

You are so vary far removed from Clarkson in that one aspect. As far removed as it is possible to be, really. He'd just have one drawer with a hammer in it.

That isn't too far from the truth. :o .... I have garage space for four cars but only one car is garaged at the moment, a walk in crawl-space used for storage, including a stack of 2x4's and 2x6's, a generator, a small mower and an extension ladder, some stuff stacked under the sunroom including a stack of 2x4's and 2x8's that are drying at the moment, a 10'x20' garden shed, a similar sized open-sided "barn" that I built, and a rented 10'x25' storage unit. There are also a few things lying around behind the shed, like a stack of bricks and concrete blocks, some spare wheelie bins, a couple of floor-furnace grates, an old swing support, and a "glider" seat (like a swing that doesn't need to be hung).

Mrs P told me that her nightmare scenario is that I die before I get things cleared up and straightened out! .... :(

My goal for 2016 is to do some serious decluttering, and be able to get my truck back into the garage.

Yes.

He's probably got 20 Rothman's in there, too. That's about it though.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, I meant it in a good way. Though you must have a staggering amount of land to be able to keep all that stuff in. Decluttering is a good goal - or at least consolidation and organizing anyway.

Land is what we don't have, just a bog standard quarter-acre lot. My 2016 goal is to get everything properly measured out and come up with a design for the landscaping and get the yard prepared for overseeding in the fall so I can start a spring/fall aerate and seed rotation with a weed/feed program in between. I'd like to work towards becoming an account manager here at work one day, I may as well start with my own gaff

That being said, though prices here are probably quite a bit higher than by you, one of these days I'd love to have the means to move up to Wisconsin and get a house on 5+ acres, ideally with attached woodland, but I'd need to add a zero to my yearly salary before that can happen :(

If I drive by and see a nice bit of wood that's been discarded then I'm having it. The wife always tuts but I always make a big show when I find a use for one of these salvaged beauties.

There's about a million uses around the garden alone. Reclaimed wood makes a nice retaining wall for a planting area.

We moved to the US from a 4 bed semi with double garage to a 1 bed apartment, now that was a serious declutter!!!, I had prized 'crap' (wife term) to lose!!
When my father passed away I inherited a lot of his 'crap'

Heartbreaking I tell you, heartbreaking!!

Almost everything I have is stacked and stored out of sight, even from us. There is nothing remarkable visible at the front of our house, and when we look out at the back, all we see is the shed at the far end of the lawn, and the roof of the barn beyond.

Our land is mostly wooded, so we can barely see our neighbours' houses for much of the year, much less what, if anything, they have in their back yards.

See, that's considerate - you keep your piles out of sight.

Yet if someone in the street has ugly children, we're forced to look at that all the time

I had about three days in the UK to deal with my father's relatively modest accumulation of "stuff" after he died but before his funeral, because it would be too much for my mother to deal with.

I shipped his tools to the US. Much of the rest I chucked. His detonators and hand grenade (pin still in, main charge apparently drained out through a drilled hole), were taken away by the local bomb squad.
