That's an age thing, when I was younger I used to go through fronts faster than rears.

Why are these people taking their foot off the brake at all? I think it is less about being careless with their feet and more about thinking that creeping forward will make the light turn green or give them some advantage when it does.

Sometimes its just a comfort thing. Some lights take 5 minutes to change and keeping your foot in one position without moving it sometimes becomes uncomfortable. Especially when wearing heels.

It's pretty bloody easy to put it in park, though. The creeping bothers the shit out of me, too. I'm with Anian on this one :D

Why would you want to park at an intersection? Isn't "Park" only used when parking? I am sure the "N" means "Not to be used".

Plus that means I have to take my eyes off my phone.

Is that e-brake as in emergency brake or electronic brake?

Then you see a filter light turn green that isn't for your lane so you twitch forward and then pretend you are just stretching your foot.

I think it's a northern dialect thing.

At least one of my automatics has a cable operated hand brake. The other has a foot operated brake that may be cable.

Newer European vehicles now just have a button on the dash for the parking brake.

higher end US cars use electronic e-brakes as is the case is europe but they are gawd awful expensive so not cost expensive for lower end cars, either in the US or europe.

I didn't realize a ford focus was a high end car, my mistake.

How does having a button on the dash work for hill starts. Could be a problem in San Francisco. Those stupid foot parking brakes were a challenge.
