People who call Massachusetts "Mass". :frown:

Nobody refers to Conn, Penn, Virg, Miss, or Tenn, etc.so why is MA different? Is it just subliminal marketing by the Catholics? :unsure:

I think it's just to conform with the term for people who live there.

Yes, one of my relatives who lives there told me the proper term is Mass to rhyme with "Ass". :D

Exactly. I used to hang out with old school English Catholics, and that's how they pronounced it. Not to mention the Anglo-Catholics.

Yes I think that is the thrust of the argument. Appeasement gets a bad rap in my book. Yes hindsight is great but at the time when you are still recovering from "the war to end all wars" picking a fight was the last thing anyone wanted.

Likewise in Iran. Invading Iran would be the stupidest thing ever.
