Probably. I know in reality it means that they want to go through the whole bloody id/insurance/address/consent rigmarole at reception, then nurses weighing and measuring you and getting you all ready so that doctor can swan in at 8.45am for 30 seconds, poke about and then bugger off and charge my insurance a small fortune.

Getting a smear test done by the practice nurse at my GP might have been more low-tech but there was considerably less (pardon me) fannying about!!!!

I tend to get to everything fifteen minutes early or more whether I'm told to or not, so it doesn't really affect me.

My blood pressure has been significantly raised this morning that I think it's time for a new list of that which makes me want to punch everyone I see up the throat.

- Inconsiderate twunts who can't drive deciding to roll their cars and close entire stretches of road thus making me late and causing me to waste more petrol taking the long way around.

- Loudness. Unless you're at an air show or a rock concert, there's no need. None.

- Citeh. You had one job - stuff the chavvy cnuts, but could you do it?

- Coughy McCougherson is back from her conference. Oh fking joy.

- The thumbs-down and frown smiley

- Facebook bandwagons. ****ing giraffes? **** off. **** so far off it's impossible to **** back on again.

That plus the normal. Conservatives, christians, bad drivers, bleeding hearts, hippies and other people's children.

People who show up here, on BE, and in their very first post, the first one, I tell you, ask a question that Google will give you multiple answers to in much less time than it took to type the question into the BE forum.

Both Shawn Ryder, and the wishing of a 'happy' day of the week that is not associated with a birth or national holiday are another two peeves, so thanks for that ...

I forgot one as well - people who go everywhere, utterly everywhere, probably into the shitter, with their big coffee cups, usually the branded cardboard ones, so we can all see how ****ing 'hip' they are.

Like the god botherers who demonstrate their inability to think critically by wearing crosses, or sticking fish on to their cars, these people are apparently so proud of their dependence on a bitter tasting, tooth staining, diuretic liquid to wake up because their mind bogglingly feeble brain chemistry can't do it for them like it evolved to that they want to display it to the world. Honestly I've seen more than a few almost lose their children because they looked like they didn't want to put the chuffing cup down in order to hold on to them.

Twunts.

So where does that leave you on December 25? Personally conflicted, I presume.

No, because presumably nobody will be saying 'happy Wednesday' to me on that day. It was the use of the actual weekday's name in the expression that makes me want to take lives. The association with an event is (usually) fair enough.

Christmas, to me, is a secular holiday that just stole a goddy name. No conflict there.

:D

I don't mind fishes on cars - I have a soft spot for Christians, amiable fools that they are. Fish with feet and the Darwin thing tick me off though. Oh how subtle, clever, and ironical those car-owners are!!

Coffee is the nectar of the gods and it keeps me alive. However, all travel mugs, paper cups, cup holders and the whole idea of drinking "on the go" is stupid in my opinion.

Have you noticed that if there's a shite driver in front of you, nine times out of ten there's a jesus fish on the back somewhere? The only soft spot I have for christians is the pile of sick I leave beside me after I have to hear or read another pile of shite about the 'power of prayer'.

Correction. Cider is the nectar of the gods and water keeps you alive.

When I see that particular smiley face, I always assume the person is not just passive aggressive but obnoxiously so.

By contrast, when I see this one, :D, I assume the person is a complete and utter moron.
