I never came across them myself, but it's strange how news used to travel slowly years ago. I know some people who were genuinely shocked to find out Freddie Mercury was gay! - If that seems unbelievable remember he was shown with a regular girlfriend in at least 1 newspaper (and I think they had plans to marry).

I have actually met people who still don't know Mercury was gay, they tell me that the relationship he had with Mary Austin proves he was actually straight and just played gay for effect.... At first it starts to make sense, until they go on invariably to say the same about Elton John, I mean, he was married after all!!!!

I didn't see that one, but there have been several hoaxes regarding deaths of celebrities... Unless there is a link, you can often discount them.
Apparently there were questions in Parliament today about a Paedophile ring linked to Downing Street- as per another talkboard I surf. But is it true ?

so as some people believe everything they read in the Sun (planes on the Moon) and others believe everything they read in the Daily Mail so everyone believes everything they read on Twitter - the place to put nasty rumours about someone knowing full well it will go viral.

such a sad world especially as many here have said on another thread that Gay's should be left to do what they want when they want and sod the rest of the population

Did anyone see the programme about Freddie last week on BBC. It was very good. Mainly a compilation of interviews all through his life. In one he said Mary was the only person who he trusted. We once saw Queen in Spain, must have been in 80's.

The assets of Saviles estate have been frozen to the tune of 4.5million quid in preparation to meet damages claims I presume.

I'm inclined to think there wasn't a lot in the Freddie Starr rumours, certainly not in the same league as Savile anyway.

There was a film clip on todays news with a lady claiming Savile had his hand away and refused to shift it whilst performing live on TV.
Naturally all that was visible on the film were the faces and other lasses standing in the line of vision.

Just read on Twatter that a young BBC producer who was walking down the road in Manchester has had abuse shouted at him, calling him "Pedo". I am constantly shocked every day how stupid people are!
